SkyView Academy Reviews
Rating 4.02 out of 5 107 reviews
I've been at SkyView Academy since kindergarten and have seen it's ups and downs as a school all in all. The bad outweighed the good some years- mainly struggling during 2020 and the COVID pandemic. It struggles to keep teachers leaving it with a lot of classes having to be taught with long term substitutes making it difficult to learn when the class changes every semester or so. Since SkyView has a "tight-knit" "family-like" structure it makes it easy to connect with friends and get close relationships with teachers and peers. It may not be the most accepting to progressive ideas at points but if there is a problem at SkyView-it will be fixed, which is nice when looking at scenarios in other schools.
Like any school, Skyview is not perfect (cough, cough TRAFFIC) putting that con aside the things Skyview does well... they do exceptionally well. I'll gladly trade dealing with pick-up traffic for 20-30 minutes for the education our child receives. Personally, I've never encountered a school where the teachers are as invested in the students as they are at SVA. From the Head of Schools to each school principal to the athletic leadership team, to the teachers there is not a staff out there that cares more about high-quality education. Thanks for all you do SVA team!
SkyView has all that you would want from a high school experience without all the nonsense and chaos you would get from a normal high school. I love how it is small and you are able to build a relationship with the staff and teachers. The teachers really care about you and will do anything that they can to help you succeed. I have been at SkyView since elementary school and am very happy and content with my experience there so far. Even though it is a small charter school, it provides a rigorous college prep education without private school tuition. The school has a great fine arts program as well as a competitive 2A/3A athletic program. Out of all the other schools out there, SkyView is truly the best option.
