Silverado High School is located in Las Vegas, Nevada. We are the second smallest high school in the valley, but surrounded by the largest schools. We are very lucky to not have over crowded classrooms, amazing career and technical classes including Mechanical Technologies, a class funded by Tesla to teach students about 3-D printing of automotive parts, welding through technology, drafting, etc. Silverado offers many sports for students with great coaches that teach good character and not just focusing on the W. Our school has a culinary and photography program, along with theater technology. We have a great principal and counseling staff always looking out for all of the students. I really enjoy being part of Silverado. Hawks Pride!

Overall, I am glad to say that Silverado has made me the student I am today. The teachers, despite big class sizes, always try to make themselves available to their students; and not only that, but they also care about the individual success of each of their students. The AP classes have really given me a glimpse of what the future will have to offer academically. The new administration has given the school a new face and that has really revived the school spirit of the students! As a senior, my teachers have made the college process much less stressful. They pretty well guided us and made sure we were on track to graduate at all times. I will miss this atmosphere! Go skyhawks!
The things that I like about Silverado HS is that there are around 100 electives to choose from, so there are a variety of options to choose from. Not only that, but the school is diverse, and everyone gets free lunch! The staff is amazing because they will help help you with every need that you have, ranging from dealing with reduced prices for AP tests to trying to find lost/stolen items. The things that I would like to see changed at Silverado HS is the bell because only a few people can hear it during lunch.
