The teachers and staff are amazing, they truly love the students and make learning fun. The school building itself is in horrible shape and it’s really a shame the district has allowed the school to go without updates for so long. Despite the lack of resources, our community bands together to ensure students are successful, and the teachers give 110% everyday. They realize we are about to become adults venturing into the world and they’ve helped prepare us for that. They’ve treated us with respect and in turn received the respect of the students. I am proud to have been a Dragon at SCHS. We may not have modern equipment and state of the art resources, or even a structurally sound building.. but we did have amazing teachers and students and I wouldn’t trade them for anything!
Silver Creek High school is a place for high school students to learn and become ready for college. At my time at Silver Creek High School, there was also many extracurricular achievements. During my sophomore year, the basketball team and the cheerleading team won state. The culture at Silver Creek is also phenomenal. The teachers are easy to work with and all of the students have plenty of school pride. Overall, I can say nothing but good things about the school I have attended the past fours years of my high school career.
I'm a transgender male, and Silver Creek was an awful school to go to being apart of this specific demographic. It's a school that majorly lacks in LGBTQ awareness and acceptance. Not to mention the facilities are atrocious no matter what kind of individual you are! The only good experience I really got from this place were the few years I spent being apart of the SC Theatre Department (before it fell apart my senior year after losing our two theatre instructors/directors). If it weren't for having theatre my first three years of high school, I honestly don't know how I would have made it out of there as strong as I did.
