Silliman Institute Reviews
Silliman is a small private school that has a very homey feel to it. Everyone is very nice and welcoming to new comers. The academics could stand to improve a little and the facilities are quite old. But the culture surrounding the school is very encouraging and friendly. Silliman has limited resources so each class does not have access to computers yet, but that issue is being worked on. The administration is currently going through a culture change too with a new principal. Other than the old facilities there is really nothing for me to complain about while going to Silliman Institute.
I started going to the school in my 9th grade year because my family moved. I didnt know what it would be like because i had never really changed schools. The students there are friendly and welcoming you will soon find a best friend even if you're and introvert like me. Most of the teachers are nice as long as you dont purposely try and annoy them. The only really "bad" part i guess that could use immediate attention is that the gym doesnt have any air conditioning, but other than that the gym class is pretty fun, but i mainly practice my sports during gym class. Overall i think the experience is good for me and anyone who doesnt talk to anyone much because the people there help you get out of your comfort zone. The teachers are fun and know what they are doing because most have been teaching for many years. I like it there and i am actually kinda happy we moved.
This school has really shown me how to get along in the real world. The teachers are very knowledgeable in their respective subject areas. I really love the food at the school. Other schools in the area do not even provide hot, daily prepared foods for their students. I only came to the school in my sophomore year and I was welcomed with open arms by the students. I was made Class Secretary my first year. Several of the teachers have been very helpful in pushing myself to be the very best student, I can be.
