Sierra Canyon is one of the best private schools in Southern California. The staff makes sure that you are college ready and they provide a great and healthy environment to learn in. Not only is Sierra Canyon the best in academics but in our sports programs as well. Our boys basketball team has produced many great players such as Cassius Stanley, Scotty Pippin Jr, Kenyon Martin Jr, and Marvin Bagley just to name a few. Our girls basketball team is exceptional as well. We won the open division state championship in 2019. I was honored to attended such an amazing school like Sierra, even though I thought I wouldn’t belong because I wasn’t rich or my parents weren’t anyone famous. Sierra canyon made me feel like family. They always have your back. We are definitely one big family.
I have been a teacher at Sierra Canyon for many years. I left after 18 years and taught at another school, but gradually made my way back home. The community, culture, and overall educational experience offered is something so unique that I couldn't stay away. I always felt like I was on loan until I came back. Sierra is a place that become a home. The feeling of belonging and comfort is something unique to Sierra, whether as a teacher or a student. Relations developed are forever, evidenced in the return of children of past students, and continued communication between teachers, parents , and students who have graduated. This is my happy place!
After relocating to CA, we were most impressed with SC as it provided the most comprehensive education. We felt that their approach to education was the most aligned in honing key life and morale character skills needed for one to succeed. Unfortunately, others focused solely on academics. Additionally, unlike one of the most reputable schools in LA, SC didn't make the parents go through a separate interview which we found insulting given our educational and professional credentials. As a result, our daughter turned down this other offer and happily enrolled at SC.
