For a long time I always expected to have to fill certain standards of going to a religious school but being at Shoreland has taught me that no matter who you are, no matter your color, personality, ethnicity, even religion, they will make sure you are comfortable in your own skin. The teachers not only educate on science, history, etc...they help you learn how to be yourself and how God has made you in his own image. I always have to remind myself how blessed I am to be able to attend this school, I have met so many different yet amazing people there, students and faculty. There will always be different friends groups but I am always astonished to see how close all the students are. Being at Shoreland has given me a new outlook on life, the teachers are so helpful, and the students are well bonded. Being a small school has helped with that too. My school may be surrounded by corn and cabbage fields, but we are also surrounded by God and His Word.
I am a junior at Shoreland, and I very much enjoy going to school there. The teachers all care about each individual student - and not only their academic welfare, but also their Spiritual and emotional welfare. In fact, the teacher-led after-school work out program for out-of season athletes - which is free for all students - makes me say that the teachers are also looking out for the best of the physical welfare of the students.
This school holds true to the truths of God's Word, and for that I am very thankful. One can expect to find a group of students here that are devoted to their academic success, and the school's STEM program makes it evident that this school is working hard to be a good stepping stone to a quality college.
After speaking to my public-schooled friends, I realize that I am very blessed to be enrolled here, and I know that this school is a much better school than a public school.
