My experience at Sherwood High School has been, overall, very good. I have met some incredible people, I have had wonderful teachers, and I feel like I have learned a lot in all of my classes. Sherwood's educators have helped me maintain my 4.0 GPA and helped me score fives on AP exams. I think Sherwood's athletics program allows for a lot of great school spirit and camaraderie between students. Furthermore, I have had an incredible experience in the Academy of Health Professions program offered at Sherwood. I was able to acquire a CNA license before graduating high school! Many schools don't offer this program. I believe Sherwood has a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere that helps promote learning. If I were to say something negative, it is that Sherwood seems to have a predominantly white student population. I feel like my school experience could have been different if there was a greater amount of diversity in my environment.
It wasn't my top choice for a school, and I didn't feel like I connected with most my classmates. But after taking some harder classes, I started to find others with similar ambitions as myself! The school has a lot of diversity in student population and opportunities to reach. Most teachers are pretty good and engaging.
I have really liked Sherwood High-School. I like the athletic programs, and Sherwood’s academics are always rigorous. I feel that this gives me a great jumpstart with college preparation. Unfortunately with Covid, I lost an entire season of varsity baseball and time with my friends. All classes have been virtual, which is often frustrating due to so many people working over the internet, leading to lagging on the Zoom network. I for the most part like the teachers, and don’t ever have a problem with the staff. The school is very diverse and we are a true melting pot of race, religions, and ethnicities which makes me proud. We have great athletics across the board l, and I am thankful to be a part of the family. In addition, we have a really great theatre arts department. Once a year all of the students have an opportunity to try out for something called Rock and Revival. Our school is well known for this event, and it provides a large stream of extra revenue.
