There are many different clubs you can get involved in, more so in high school rather than junior high. In Jr. High we have a club called Stand for the Silent. It is an anti-bullying group. In high school, there are a variety of different things to do, including, SADD, class senate, all-school senate, American Red Cross, Stand for the Silent, and Yearbook committee. Along with these, there are many different things offered for students at the high school level, but sometimes they don't get appropriate funding.

Students are mostly involved in Fine Arts or Sports in high school, although there are a reasonable amount of people in clubs. Of course, just like any other school there is a point of peer pressure. In order to avoid peer pressure, the person needs to stand up for what they believe is right and it usually won't cause a problem. There are only a handful of people in the school that are not white/Caucasian. This is not a bad thing, and the African-American's or Mexicans do not get discriminated. Sherrard is very accepting.
Most students are involved in at least one sport throughout the school year. There is a lot of school spirit, purple and gold crowd the stands on game nights. There is lifting for most sports offered before or after school. The teams are not outstanding in performance but everyone has a good time. The opportunities are great. For example, this year I played football for the school. I am a girl. Everyone was very accepting and it was amazing how many people were in the stands cheering for me.
