Sheridan is a very good school on my opinion. Compared to most of the other schools in our area I believe we do very well. Our staff and teachers genuinely care about you and for the most part do a great job at helping us receive a great education. We also have amazing programs and sports. I feel we are a fairly successful school in both athletics and academics. I wish there was a better way for our school to receive funding, I feel like with better funding we would be much better off. But we make very well with what we have. There really isn’t any crime that takes place. I go to school with no thought of ever being in danger and it’s a very positive atmosphere.
I have went to the Northern Local District all my life. It is a very small school with a graduating class of about 200. I love being out in the country with little traffic and a quiet surrounding. The staff and teachers are all so helpful. They always jump to help someone and have easily allowed me to excel in the classes I have taken. Overall a great school and I would recommend anyone to enroll here.
It was as average as you can get within public high schools. I really wish that it had offered more AP and CCP classes as well as other foreign language options.
It was a good school with good staff. Really recommend the shop classes and the agriculture classes. They are taught by great teachers
Amazing teachers that not only support all students but are amazing at their jobs. The school provides with many opportunities for students to be apart of something bigger such as student council, or many of the other clubs or activities. Resources are somewhat bad and outdates. Overall good.
they do their best, lack of ap classes and funding for the arts but that’s most schools. huge lack of diversity but it’s in the middle of a cornfield, so you can’t expect much. there are some really great teachers
For the amount of money that they receive, Sheridan High School isn't bad. They do a good job with what they have, and although there isn't 30 AP classes or over qualified teachers, the opportunities are there. Compared to some of the other schools in the area, they definitely try their best. They help prepare kids for college, help students prep for standardized tests like the ACT and SAT, and overall the culture is positive for learning.
I like the fact that the teachers were really nice and I felt like they cared about their students. Some of the staff wasn’t as nice as they could have been, but overall the teachers were nice & helpful. I would have liked to see some adulting classes added to the curriculum, because they went on and on about how they “prepared us for life after graduation” when in reality they didn’t. They threw us out into the real world with useless knowledge.
Supportive and professional staff, average opportunities for advanced education, ie. college credit plus. Positive school climate with community involvement
It is a very close knit school for the most part. Small town so everyone knows everyone's business. Not much culture, hardly any diversity. Most teachers are very knowledgeable and friendly, willing to give up their free time during the week to ensure students understand what they are being taught.
There are no benefits for taking AP/Honors Classes- need to change the grading scale. They need books or chrome books for everyone. Some subjects there are no books available except for at school or online (the online ones have not been user friendly)
I enjoy how good most of the teachers here are and their dedication to teaching the students to the best of their ability. I also, as an athlete, love the winning culture that we have created with the sports programs here at Sheridan.
Sheridan was a very good school besides diversity. It was a small town so not many different people went there. Many kids would judge other kids. The teacher and staff were great. They always cared about the kids and their future
I like how everything is close knit and you really get to know your teachers. It’s also amazing how many opportunities are presented to you in such a small town.
Sheridan High school is a school for athletes, this school is involved with sports. Some students going through this school don't feel as involved. I was in Sheridan for 2 years out of my 4 years of high school, I am not homeschooling but that was the latest school I have attended.
I love that we have such a close school/community that supports every student that attends the school. There have been several changes made in the four years i have been a student, and all of those have been made in order to better our school as a whole.
Sheridan High School provided me with an excellent education that allowed me to further my desire to go on to college.
