I love Shawnee High School! I think it can be very challenging so it prepares students for college more than other schools might. I have learned so much throughout my four years. Additionally, they make learning fun. Shawnee is home to a great student body with a lot of school spirit, and it is easy to make friends and get involved. They offer a wide range of activities so that students can easily find a passion and pursue it along with other interested students. Most of the time teachers are excellent and students are sure to have a memorable high school experience.

Shawnee High School was extremely formative, and many students developed outstanding skills that prepared them for life outside of Medford. However, there are certain activities that received a lot more attention than academics and academically-oriented extracurriculars, such as sports, which may have been detrimental to the incredible debate champion that was average at football. Though I was a varsity athlete, I also pursued academics to their fullest extent and would like to see more offerings such as debate, Model UN, and startup accelerators on campus - things that I consistently hear about at other high schools. More support for the theater program, more diversity training for the students and staff, and better food options would give Shawnee the A+ it craves. For a public school education, I am proud to say I received it from Shawnee.
Academically, a great school. I love most of my teachers; they challenge me to reach my full potential and prepare me for college. There are a wide variety of clubs and activities to be involved with, which have greatly enhanced my high school experience. The school culture reflects that of a typical All-American high school: sports, sports, cheer-leading, more sports, and the occasional artist or theater person. Diversity is highly lacking here.
