During my relatively new experience at Sharyland high school, this being my 2nd year attending this institution, I've had a positive experience thus far. Academics and College Readiness are two fields that this highschool is very keenly focused on and highly encouraged by the staff and administration who provide effective resources and opportunities. From having helpful staff run the GO center (college readiness center) to having past students run panels in order to inspire current seniors to go to college. With that thogugh, it does have its faults. Though the high school provides a relatively positive experience, many students have felt tension from administrative staff on independent occasions which can and has translated to students taking individual action by voicing their opinions through the use of social media. Because of this, I would opt to change the way our administration goes about executing some actions on the subject of student engagement.

Currently, I am a senior attending Sharyland High School. I began attending Sharyland High School my junior year. At first, I was afraid of not fitting in and thought I would have trouble adapting to the different schooling environment. However, the welcoming atmosphere brought on by the students and staff made me feel at home and as if I already belonged. Sharyland is a very well respected and hardworking school that pushes students to achieve the most they can in order to succeed. It is a very dedicated school district that wants the best for their students, and though sometimes not every single problem or occurrence may be solved, with the involvement of the staff, any issue can be worked out.
At Sharyland High School every teacher, advisor and administrative is willing to be a guide to students. The climate is both challenging and nurturing, pushing students towards an "exemplary" performance both in academia and extra-curricular. There is little to no tolerance for bullying and discrimination, and being resident to the Rio Grande Valley area (a melting pot of races and nationalities) Sharyland is proud to be part of a multi-cultural insitution.

There are multi-diverse options for course-work and outside of school organizations to nourish students and help them grow into the professionals they dream to be in the future, and educators are willing to take in students of many different abilities and talents and help them all excel to the best of their abilities. A lot of the expectations from the school are high, so you can certainly count on good results from this school.
