For those considering SRCS, overall they provide a solid educational experience. But unfortunately nepotism is allowed and seems to be encouraged so be prepared for your child to not receive an earned academic award or start on a sports team based on merit. Miraculously, often times a coach and/or teacher’s child usually undeservingly wins out. They do not even hide their nepotism; the following is a true story. A teacher/parent in class brags to the other children that their child/student is a genius, I’m sure making the other children feel less of themselves. Don’t be surprised if the self-proclaimed student genius receives the top award and thus takes the award from the true top student that actually earned it. Unfortunately, this happens at SRCS. Wish this wasn’t the case but just keep this in mind as it is a school full of cronyism. I will say overall it is a good school for an education and much better than what the public schools are offering.
My favorite thing about Seven Rivers is the academically rigorous courses it provides. On top of that, the teachers who teach these courses care very deeply about their students. Teachers are always willing to help, even when it is outside of their schedule or inconvenient. Seven Rivers also provides adequate tools to have success in other areas of high school. I am a member of NHS and the SGA president. Seven Rivers has given me the opportunity to adequately serve the student body on NHS and SGA while still maintaining a 4.0 GPA with all honors and AP classes while also playing and excelling in three varsity sports (football, soccer, track and field).
I have been at Seven Rivers Christian School since seventh grade. I am about to graduate from there as a senior, and I have witnessed nothing short of community and love. Seven Rivers Christian School prides itself on community, and it is impossible not to have meaningful relationships with the teachers and staff. At lots of schools, the idea of having a relationship with a teacher or a teacher caring about their students seems almost absurd, but at Seven Rivers the teachers truly care about the student body and seek to provide guidance and counseling to all. Seven Rivers is also academically challenging and pushes every student to the best of their ability which prepares their students for college well beyond what other public schools do. The school has helped me reach my full potential, and I feel super prepared and eager to start college in a few short months. Not only do the teachers strive to implement basic education, but they also teach valuable life lessons and principles.
