This school has a good amount of diversity which allows your perspective to grow and become accustomed to different ideas and personalities. It's from this diversity that I've been able to adapt to the personality of others and learn to accept and understand people who are different me in many ways from subtle to intense (ex: favorite music to different political affiliations and personal beliefs). What makes this school unique to me is how much it's perceived as an "underdog" school compared to the others in the district, but it never fails to make an effort to give it, it's best- whether it be in sports, rallies, or academics! I would gladly choose this school again and again if I could!
Review Sequoia High School
Administration take the health and safety of the school as a top priority! I always felt safe at campus and hardly ever worried of any bad events taking place. There's usually one on-campus officer walking around from time to time and at lunch. Administrators and faculty take good care of the less well-off students and their home situations. Bullying is handles with the greatest care and intention- 100% no bullying allowed and will not be tolerated. This school is safe and if there is a problem noticed by staff, administration will address the issue head on!
At Sequoia I have been taught through the wonderful IB program and have been lucky enough to have met such unique and caring individuals. The resources, activities, and adults are pretty great. My English teacher and guidance counselor would take time from their day to listen to me and give me helpful advice.
As we all know, everything isn't perfect. From a physical aspect, Sequoia could benefit from new bathrooms and more filtered water stations (there's only two and they break down sometimes). The administration would seem less intimidating if they could seem more empathic with students.
