Sequoia teachers care about their students improving both their skills in academics and the real world. They strive to provide a well-rounded education and incorporate relevant topics. The school, located in Silicon Valley, has strong liberal-leaning tendencies and creates a climate of acceptance no matter one's ethnicity or sexuality. If you are interested in the arts they have a strong dance, music and theater programs that many students get involved with. What also makes Sequoia unique is that it has the IB (International Bachelorette) program which puts more emphasis on deeper thinking than the AP program and also makes students who choose to participate eligible for applying to international universities.

I will be graduating from Sequoia this year and have attended all four years of high school. The school has a great IB program for rigorous academics and an inclusive culture. It is a “place of friends”. Almost all staff are understanding of students as students, athletes, and people. Is great!
The IB program is the only advanced curriculum that legitimately prepares students for college. And as the only public school on the Penninsula to offer it, Sequoia High School is unrivaled on diverse academic preparedness and creates the best possible students. Additionally, Sequoia students understand and perpetuate respect garnering them as some of the most well rounded and balanced students in California. Overall Sequoia high school demands the best of their students so that no matter the students background, when they leave after their time at sequoia, they have become a better version of themselves.
