I've finished all 3 years at SAMS and I have to say it's a pretty good school for central PA. The teachers are very good (considered how much they're paid) and I felt like I was getting the circumlem I deserved. There is a gifted program called enrichment, and it's a good program. The sports are good, I never played anything though. The music department is also good.
Some of the problems include how ignorant a lot of these students are. Most are white, middle class students who throw offensive racist and homphobic terms around because a lot of them don't realize who offensive they're being. I'm bisexual, and never really felt welcomed by a lot of my peers for a being an openly queer woman.
But I feel like all the schools in the area are like this (besides Lewisburg or Danville possibly, but we all know how we feel about them), so I definitely think SAMS gave me the education that I needed.
Just wait it out, the High school is a lot better
