Teachers and Staff were great! Being privileged to go to a school in West Hartford having so many great resources such as trustable teachers, security guards and overall, all of the staff. As a student who struggled to speak English (being my second language), all teachers were understanding of this and allowed for a perfect studying plan for me!
I am a student at this school, and if you're cis, white, straight and overall "normal", then you'll fit right in. Lots of racism and homophobic as well as transphobia when the teachers "try their best" to stop it even though all they do is yell at the kid which makes it even worse. As an eighth grader, some of the seventh and sixth graders are absolutely horrid. When I was on the first floor getting to class I heard a student tell out the n word at a black student. Some kids barely get justice if they're attacked verbally or physically. A nice teacher that I know of is Mr. Coon, he's the leader of 7-1 and is overall a nice guy. But like I said, trans and gay kids get very little justice, and very much need more.
I am a student at Sedgwick, and it is a great school. There are many resources available for students struggling, and the schedule is great for kids. Mostly, when I think about school, I have a positive opinion. If you are thinking about moving here, know that while your kids will encounter some rough patches, they will enjoy school and learn many useful things.
