Parent: As a parent, I have been super impressed with the intentional efforts by OES that goes in to creating a sense of community and belonging. Teachers are experts in their subject areas but more importantly they are experts in knowing their students. Small class sizes and gathering together has empowered my child to feel safe and known and because of this they are more inclined to try new things, ask questions and step out of their comfort zone. Parent: I like that ISP is a full immersion IB PYP school that offers three languages. It is a school that thinks of the student first and takes feedback constructively and uses the feedback to continually improve their processes. The teachers all work hard to support each and every student and to share the culture, not just the language that the student is enrolled in. In addition, the school is always working to improve on communication and to involve families to the fullest, to include grandparents and special friends! The teachers are incredible people and educators who work hard to, and are supported in, developing relationships with each student and learning how they learn best. The differentiation for student learning styles and interests is excellent. PJA cares deeply about developing the hearts as well as the minds of students, with a robust service learning program, inter-grade buddies, and K-8 "mishpachot" ("families"). Parent: My child has been enrolled in The Marylhurst School for three years now, starting in the Three's class, then Pre-Kindergarten and now Kindergarten. My heart is filled with so much joy every day when I pick up my son and he is so lit up about school and all they learned that day. He's a hands-on learner and so the choice and work stations he can choose from every day are so engaging to him. The small class size means he gets a lot of individual attention. As a kindergartener, he has spent a full class year deep diving into Greek Mythology! WOW! He has Spanish class every week too! Part of the curriculum is teaching how to be mentored and how to mentor as well as thinking in terms of community, being kind to one another and being kind to our earth. These are lessons some adults can use and I am thrilled he will grow up knowing how we treat one another matters and how we treat the earth matters. Parent: Our son entered FAIS in 6th grade for Middle School and is currently a 7th grader. From the Open House we first attended and thereafter, we've been nothing but impressed. At the Open House, teachers were present and shared with us about their courses and teaching approach. They then got so excited talking to each other about how they collaborate on the IB curriculum they eventually had to be light-heartedly "shushed" so the presentations could continue! It was awesome. And we quickly saw the teachers walked their talk. The curriculum is challenging, global and engaging. Class sizes are small and the teachers really get to know your kid and support them. Administration is open and responsive and the school does a great job of providing opportunities for FAIS families to get to know each other. Our son loves being on the school soccer, basketball and track teams. He's happy. We parents are happy. We all wish it went through high school!... Read 10 reviews

Parent: There aren't words to describe the feeling of peace, joy and thankfulness that fills my heart when I think about FMES. Previously, my son was improperly safeguarded and even shamed by staff, attacked by other children, and never challenged or nurtured. But now, his teachers talk to him and about him with respect, courtesy and love. They know how to guide him toward all the great big things he's trying to do. And this isn't just a classroom phenomenon - the entire school has established as its mission a culture of respect, courtesy and empathy. I know, when I drop my son off at school, that he is safe, loved and learning. I know, when I talk to teachers and staff, that I will be treated with respect and honesty. Alum: I learned who I was and my life purpose at Park Academy. Growing up schools always tried to teach me, but Park Academy allowed me to teach myself through the expansive programs and great facilities. Their impact on life is hard to put into words. Great collaborative projects between Marylhurst University for music therapy, well known artists teaching creative practice, and very knowledgeable staff eager to understand students learning challenges and turn them into strengths. Dyslexia at Park Academy is not viewed as a disability, but rather an empowering asset. The other learner curves and personality traits of the students creates a comfortable safe space to "be-yourself" and treat others with love, respect, despite ethnic or financial backgrounds. I am truly thankful for every opportunity attending Park Academy has opened for me, but I am also thankful for the knowledge of self I've found after becoming a member of the Alumni Family 2014....
