Senior: The teachers care. One one lady handles all admissions and getting in touch with the staff. There is no parent involvement. There should be more music /art, online learning and fun programs and clubs like traditional HS. Just because it's an alternative school doesn't mean the students have to miss the essence of HS. Parent: I am so glad that I got an opportunity to be a student at Texas School for the Deaf. My deaf identify got bigger when I attend there each time. If not for it, I would be a different person; also won't able to be proud of my deaf identity. But for one and only thing need to change is favoritism around the people. Junior: The school is really great and everyone is very kind. The community is caring and supportive. It definitely has made a difference in my ability to approach projects and assignments with far less anxiety. Boarding is ok however, as an older student it is very restrictive at times with a lot of rules. Some students really love boarding and like it here better than being at home and never go home on the weekends. There’s kids who board who I never see and always go home on the weekends. The level system is a good concept, but it can be infuriating. Most boarders live in New England and on weekends a lot of the students go home because of this sometime the weekends make campus feel like a ghost town. However, there are always places to go because we’re so close to Boston and isn’t in the middle of nowhere like a lot of boarding schools are. I think that Landmark is really great and has helped a me and it’s other students more then public school could have. I am very glad I am here.... Read 35 reviews

Parent: Public schools never met the academic needs of our gifted yet dyslexic boys. Their academics and self-esteem suffered enormously. We tried Denver Academy as a last ditch effort because the boys really preferred the variety of social possibilities to homeschooling. Our experience has been nothing short of life changing and transformative for both of them and ultimately for our whole family. We have been here for two years and plan to go through all of high school. Things we love: individualized learning plan sculpted to their needs, fantastic teachers, PE every day, art, music, and great STEM electives, small class sizes.... the list goes on. Alum: Amazing School with great Teachers, Teacher Assistants, and One on Ones I went to BCSS all through Junior High and High School. Which for anyone that doesn't know BCSS is a school for individuals with Mental or Psychical Disabilities. I so happen to have a psychical disability called Cerebral Palsy in both of my legs, and these individuals who were running the school always treated me like I was any other normal kid... Parent: Our family relocated from northern New Jersey this past summer so our daughter could attend Aim Academy. We do not regret our decision one bit. The administrators, teachers and staff are friendly, approachable and professional. We receive consistent communication from the school and our questions are always answered in an open and timely manner. Our daughter has gone on many fun and relevant field trips and participated in service oriented projects that are embedded in the curriculum. Aim provides consistent, reliable progress monitoring which means when you sit down with teachers for conferences you receive not only qualitative but also quantitative data.
