Senior: I have attended Gulliver for years and they run an amazing educational system. All the students create great, professional relationships with their teachers and it really helps the learning process. Their Theatre department is outstanding. Everyone has amazing opportunities to broaden their acting and musical ranges. They have amazing sports teams and the student body has great school spirit. They have numerous clubs and programs to join and students can even create their own club if the one they want isn't available. I highly recommend this school. Senior: I love Palmer Trinity School because of the opportunities it has and will provide for me. Coming from a middle-class family, I never thought attending a school like Palmer Trinity would ever be possible. Sophomore: I really like my school a lot, my teachers are great, always looking to help us out. I play football and my team and coaches are great. I am a Theater student and my classes are very challenging but fun. I think is one of the best high schools in our district with lots of activities, lots of clubs and sports. My college interests are in international business and also performing arts and will like to be able to apply for scholarships, so I can be allowed to attend an affordable college. Coral Reef is always guiding us to make good choices and their counselors are always available to meet with us and explore all college options and careers with us. My school is probably the best one at communicating and promoting college experience and they offer college trips every year. I’m really looking forward to going on a college trip next year when I’m a Junior and explore all the opportunities available for me. Senior: I love North Broward! The students who attend are super welcoming as well as the teachers. My favorite as a student was dissecting a fetal pig in anatomy class. I am super interested in science and that dissection truly made me want to go into surgery. At North Broward, I have been given many opportunities to become a leader in our school community. I am on leadership teams of multiple clubs and honors societies. I also got to lead a few events, my favorite being the Arbor Day Celebration National Honors Society had brought to our school. This past year was the first time this event was held and I had gotten the opportunity to lead it. We passed out 1000 bald cypress trees to the entirety of the high school in order to recognize and celebrate Arbor day. Overall, this school has taught me so much through academics as well as how to get involved in my community. I am very thankful to be surrounded by such a caring and resourceful school community.... Parent: Our son relocated to FL to pursue his dream of sport training & becoming the best student athlete he can be. We didn't want him to attend a school where he would just be pushed through since he has been an above average student. Luckily he ended up at Boca Prep after first trying another area school where he had virtually nothing on his accommodated schedule! From his second day at Boca Prep, he said, "I feel like I've been going here forever!" Socially outstanding, the student body is welcoming & cohesive. He quickly made great friends, both foreign & domestic, & he comes home so happy every day. Senior: At the high school John A. Ferguson Senior High, there are numerous positive factors along with some negative characteristics as well. As a current senior within the International Baccalaureate Program, I will mention that the teachers over my 4 years actually care about students' success and ambitions. Every class is a new environment with each teachers personality, but the environment can be categorized as a positive one nearly every time. I have multiple friends and colleagues that have positive annotations about their own teachers and professors due to their helpful mindsets and extensive knowledge within their own subjects. Furthermore, the sanitation and food aspects of the school are superb and satisfying to an extent; I have never had complaints with materialistic/cleanliness parts of the facilities. Senior: Pros: The resources and networking are top-tier. There are teachers that have industry connections in film and acting. If you want to become a singer, gstar has a working recording studio. There are free programs for artists. For actors, you can take classes, audition for shows, and volunteer for student films while being taught by accredited actors(one is a trained opera singer who teaches vocals). There are many resources in the film department with the industry teachers. Students work on industry projects. G-star allows students to create events. Many teachers are fun. IB is tight-knit and fun. Lots of funny things happen. Great Academics. Cons: This school sadly needs more funding/renovations to support the kids. Some teachers do have an attitude or aren't good at teaching. The participation rate of the students is low. Food from the district sucks. Admins don't do much if there's an issue. Alum: I'm currently a junior in high school, so I have no idea what the school is like now, but when I was enrolled there it was a pretty great school! Brand new at the time with very welcoming staff and some of the best teachers I've ever had. I had just moved to Florida starting 5th grade and all the teachers and other students were really nice to me and I made some friends I still talk to to this day! I don't remember too much from 5th grade, but the middle school experience there was great. Kind and helpful teachers, cool clubs, and I met all my best friends there. Those are things you won't find at the horrendous high school campus in Pembroke Pines. Only reason I didn't give this school 5 stars, was because half of the campus was open hallways, which considering Florida's terrible and sporadic weather, was pretty miserable. Sophomore: The school is a good school when it comes to academics most of the teachers do care while others are there for a paycheck but those that care the most make it worthwhile. Senior: Coming from a school with a student body of 4,000-5,000 students and transferring to Franklin Academy where I was treated individually according to my needs felt exceptional. Sophomore: Royal Palm Beach High School is an overall satisfactory school and the teachers and administrators seem to all care for the students who attend. However, some teachers should put more effort into their methods of teaching the material. The classroom should be more hands-on and interactive to maintain an engaged audience. I believe if this was implemented in more classrooms, there will be less disciplinary action that needs to be administered to students. If students are more involved in the teaching of the material, there will be fewer students who decide to sleep in class or sneak on their phones. I also believe that there should be more school spirit activities, including adding field trips that are available for students every now and then. Senior: My high school experience has been surprising. The way South Dade Senior High School has made me feel over these past years was very accepting and different because they consider you like family, especially the staff and counselor and teachers. One reason may be, that they show how much they want you to succeed in your career. They show you opportunities that are very helpful for you and what we as students plan to pursue. Along with that, the teaching for certain subject are good but one thing I wish they do it give more interesting topic. Also, South Dade gives many opportunities for clubs and community service which are very beneficial and it mean you get to give out to the community. Freshman: The school's facility wasn't up to par but you meet great people. Each teachers difficulty differed. I did feel as if they gave out detentions for no reason and so teachers were very disorganized. During my year the campus was pretty calm. There is no security; there was one coach that acted like security but I don't really think it was his job. The school has a French track, where the subjects are taught in French. I think this augments the diversity of the school because you get to meet foreign people and get a taste of their world. There were no field trips but there were foreign exchange programs.
