Sophomore: This is my second year at CIBA. It is a school that will prepare you for college. Many of the classes are difficult but by keeping up and asking the teachers questions on what you need help with you’ll be fine. IB learning is not for everyone but luckily it is for me. We are a very small school and that helps us get to know the teachers and the teachers to know us. I feel that we are such a great community and that we can talk about serious topics and give students the platform to express about the topics. There isn’t really anything I would change because this school is awesome. But just because it is a great school doesn’t mean you can get away with things. My school is very strict and they are top of you when it comes to assignments.

Senior: I have had a good experience at SHS but would love to see the guidance department be more helpful especially to seniors applying to college and seeing a career path. While applying to colleges, the guidance department was helpful with instructions on how to use Naviance system but through my four years at the school were not helpful in guiding my career path, in assisting with where to begin with my college search and then were not helpful during the scholarship and college loan part of my senior year journey. My hope would be that the guidance office would check in on me quarterly as a sophomore, junior and then even more frequently as a senior. There was very little communication provided through school, through email or face to face with the guidance office. I think looking back I would have benefited from taking an aptitude test, a survey on my career interests and strengths that would have benefited me in my career choice and what colleges aligned to those career strengths.

Senior: MLC is a safe and fun learning environment where people can be themselves and feel free to explore a variety of social issues that affect us locally, nationally, and globally. MLC is a diverse school where different cultures are acknowledged and celebrated. The family/community involvement through food/clothing drives and volunteering with the school is a great opportunity for students to engage and bridge together. Administration is caring, supportive, and proactive in our education helping us to excel in our academics and preparing us for college.
I personally have been involved in MLC through academics, sports, and clubs from National Honor Society to Softball to Drama Club. It has been a rewarding experiece for me as a student at MLC. Ive had the pleasure of building some great friendships in the classroom, on field, and on stage. We are all family at MLC with a big Dragon Spirit. I love MLC. My experience at MLC has been FUNtastic!
