Mildred E. Strang Middle School
73 Best Public Middle Schools in New York
- Yorktown Central School District, NY
High School Junior: In 2011, Mildred E. Strang Middle School won the National Blue Ribbon School, which was a wonderful honor. Recently, it has won National School of Character and is rated one of the top middle schools and best school district in its county. There are so many fun activities the PTA and school encourages students to do, like the Egg Drop contest. Also, the Rachel Joy Scott and Dr. Michael Fowlin assemblies promote respect and anti-bullying. The eighth-graders go on a trip to Rye Playland in May or June to celebrate their graduation. Finally, the commencement ceremony and school dance sponsored by the PTA is the most memorable time. I have had a wonderful experience at MESMS.

Hendrick Hudson High School
126 Best Public High Schools in New York
- Hendrick Hudson Central School District, NY
Senior: I had a great experience at Hendrick Hudson High School. Our nation has been struck with several tragedies regarding school shootings and casualties, and luckily, I never felt unsafe coming to school. We have bodyguards, have practiced lockdown drills several times, and know the rules around the school. With the school environment, bullying has never been an issue. I have never experienced harassment and unfair treatment from others myself, but I have not seen any instances of bullying occurring in the school. Peer Leadership, a program I have been a part of for two years, enables upperclassmen to interact and help first-year students throughout their incoming year into high school. We also have great teachers and students who all contribute to making the sailor community a great one! I am very thankful for being a student here for four years and look forward to my journey at Sacred Heart University.

New Canaan Country School

Parent: My children started at New Canaan Country School when they were 3, in what Country school calls the Beginners program. We live in New Canaan where the public schools are excellent. It wasn’t a given we would keep the kids at Country School for elementary. It would absolutely have to be worth it. Country School has been more than worth it for our family.
My children love school and can’t wait to go every day. They are thriving. Country School is a strong community. Where people are friendly and kind. We care about each other and each other's children. We feel lucky to have found our way to this school.
