Benton Community Middle School
#104 Best Public Middle Schools in Iowa
- Benton Community School District, IA
High School Senior: The school falls short on teaching some subjects so kids understand, but most teachers are always willing to help people succeed!! Over all it is good academically with a very successful fine arts and sports program.

Benton Community Senior High School
#103 Best Public High Schools in Iowa
- Benton Community School District, IA
Senior: My experience at Benton Community School District has been an overall positive one. Why is that? The education there is very educational in most subjects. Yes, there may be one or two teachers that students find difficult to learn from, but from those teachers is where I learn the most from, because then I have to use all my resources to find the answer. The extra-curriculars are very competitive, and throughout my four years in Benton(at least once), all the activities that I know of have placed high in state level events. The facilities are well maintained, and is extremely modern. I have personally played a role in keeping Benton up to date in the latest technology. (iPads, Desktops, Projectors, Smart Boards and Virtual Reality Headsets) There is not much diversity because we are a big school district in a rural area, but the minorities know each other well. I am good friends with most of the colored students in my grade.

Parent: Our son is currently in the 2nd grade. He has been at the school for two years, and it has been a wonderful experience. The enthusiasm of the teachers, who are truly experts in the subjects they teach, is infectious. They consistently set high standards for all students at every stage of their academic career. This is a school that prioritizes academics and the students themselves; it is targeted to students with intellectual curiosity and a strong work ethic. We are very happy here!

Belle Plaine Junior/Senior High School
- Belle Plaine Community School District, IA
Senior: I have been attending Belle Plaine Junior/Senior High since the start of my junior high career. When I first came here, I knew I was going to love it. I had been dreaming about the day when I would be able to attend high school with the older kids, doing what they do whether it be sports, drama, clubs, or extracurricular of any kind. I quickly learned that my school has much more pride than I originally thought, and works hard to make sure any student who enters the building leaves with character, dignity, and a plan for their future. I was a part of drama throughout school, with Individual Speech being my favorite yearly activity. In 2018, I was the only person at Belle Plaine to perform in the All State Individual Speech competition. I won a banner for my school, which is now proudly hung in our library. I am excited to move on to college, and I know that the skills I learned at Belle Plaine will make it so I already have the hard working, positive attitude I will need for college.

South Tama County High School
- South Tama County Community School District, IA
Senior: My experience at South Tama County High School was full of diversity and overcoming boundaries. There are so many cultures in the community and the school does a great job of taking pride in that. The amount of activities in this area where very limited when I was a freshman. I took part in the leadership seminar class and we pushed for new ideas and ‘The Trojan Way’ to become a way to come together as students and staff at South Tama. It is a small town so the community tends to be involved in everything especially the drama that happens at the high school, since it is the heart of the community.
