High School Senior: Being a small school parents help with fundraising for extra curricular activities if they need new uniforms or to go on trip. It seems like we do a lot of fundraising to put money into our accounts but the parents and teachers are all very supportive and want the best school experience for their kid but the others also. The support we get is great most students attend the other events and our fans are awesome. People step up to help in whatever way they can. High school is only as fun as you make it. I have had the best experience i could ever ask for. I have been very involved I made school history with being apart of the state basketball team. Some kids often say school is awful but if you get involved and see all the opportunities that are out there to help you have a great experience high school would be great for them. I wouldn't trade my 4 years of high school for anything. We have a great support system from the staff, parents and our community. Its a team effort here for the most part! Especially at Homecoming the local businesses offer to help and get involved with activities going on for students.

Nysmith School for the Gifted
- Private School
- Herndon, VA
- PK, K-8
Alum: Our 3 kids attended Nysmith from pre-K to 8th grade and it was the best decision of our lives! They never wanted to miss a day of school, because Nysmith knows how to make learning fun. Our kids went on to a great high school (TJ), that was perfect for their math/science/technology interests, and attended their #1 college choices. They were not only ready academically after Nysmith, but they were also happy and confident. The teachers, who are experts and passionate about the subjects they teach, treated the kids with kindness and respect, welcomed their questions, nurtured their curiosity, and helped my kids discover their gifts and abilities - sometimes before they even knew what they were. I highly recommend Nysmith. Or, better yet, don't listen to me...look at their website, see how their alums are doing, schedule a tour and a couple of student visit days for your child. See for yourselves what Nysmith is all about!

Maple Valley-Anthon Oto High School
- Maple Valley Community School District, IA
Freshman: I'm only a Freshmen but the school so far has been good. The majority of teachers are good at what they do and are nice. The high school is fairly clean and not dirty. The food is way better than the middle school food was. Most of the students are nice and welcoming. The rules are little overboard but it's okay.
