Chapman High School
127 Best Public High Schools in Kansas
- Chapman Unified School District, KS
Junior: Chapman High School is a very academics focused school district and has been awarded for its high scoring academics. There is a lot of college prep for such a small school and it is very helpful for preparing for the ACT. The entire school is new and all of the facilities are very nice. The food is wonderful and the staff is so kind. Sports are a big part of student life but not as much as the academics. There are plenty of activities for students to be involved in throughout the district. It has a good hometown feel because it is a medium sized school.

Roanoke Catholic School
- Private School
- Roanoke, VA
- PK, K-12
Senior: Roanoke Catholic is a school that teaches students belong the classroom and prepares them for either college. In the past years, 100 percent of Catholic seniors have attended college and this year the seniors have received over 2.5 million in scholarships. I started Roanoke Catholic two years ago and it was a big change coming from public school. In public schools you could slide by without doing your homework, but at Roanoke Catholic all work is required and graded as a test grade. Roanoke Catholic does not let you fall through the cracks. I also must say the food is outstanding!!
One thing I really did not like were the uniforms. In public school you basically wore what you want, but not in private school. My first year the gentlemen had to wear a shirt and tie during the winter and in the summer a polo shirt with the school’s logo and khaki pants or shorts. This year they changed the dress code to where gentlemen could wear the polo shirt and khaki pants all year around.

Abilene High School
- Abilene Unified School District, KS
Alum: Abilene High school is a good school for being in such a small town. The new remodel is beautiful, and the sports teams do well. Theater is doing great things and the students are hella talented. The high school offers a ton of dual credit which students should take advantage of. Students are overall pretty good and care about the students academically. But, they do have some important faults. The school needs to change the way that they address mental illness. When I was at school there were two suicides and one attempted and the school did a very poor job addressing it.

Senior: I have been attending Solomon High for 3 years. I have been active in a lot of things such as FCCLA (Family Careers and Community Leaders of America), cheer, volleyball, basketball, track, band, choir and the school play. I have also done work in the community, the concession stand, and we have raked leaves in the town of Solomon.
