Senior: Roanoke Catholic is a school that teaches students belong the classroom and prepares them for either college. In the past years, 100 percent of Catholic seniors have attended college and this year the seniors have received over 2.5 million in scholarships. I started Roanoke Catholic two years ago and it was a big change coming from public school. In public schools you could slide by without doing your homework, but at Roanoke Catholic all work is required and graded as a test grade. Roanoke Catholic does not let you fall through the cracks. I also must say the food is outstanding!!
One thing I really did not like were the uniforms. In public school you basically wore what you want, but not in private school. My first year the gentlemen had to wear a shirt and tie during the winter and in the summer a polo shirt with the school’s logo and khaki pants or shorts. This year they changed the dress code to where gentlemen could wear the polo shirt and khaki pants all year around.

Alum: My experience with Northwest high school was very challenging in the beginning because I had moved from Chicago, IL and was a new face within the environment. I didn't make friends immediately, I actually got into it with few of my peers only because I came from another city and needed to adjust to being the new kid around. Overall, the teachers were pretty helpful and nice. When I joined the football team, that's when doors started opening for people to like me. I gained popularity, and was pretty excited. I would struggle with my classes because of this, once I got into my senior year my focus was to graduate and take the lessons from my mother so that I can succeed. Here I am now, I graduated and ready to move forth in my life with my next accomplishment and that is graduating college.

Grand Island Senior High School

Senior: The staff truly cares about the students, especially those that enjoy learning. The administration tries their best to provide what the students need for a conducive learning environment, even if there are some things that appear unnecessary or over-done. The community occasionally makes comments to the school about events that are solely the responsibility of the individuals and do not reflect the school, to which the administration works to resolve the issue outside of their required boundaries. The population of students has grown significantly and will continue to grow, so the facilities must be made to accommodate for this or there will be the possibility of facing serious problems in the ability to enforce rules and safety.
