Union Grove High School
626 Best Public High Schools in Texas
- Union Grove Independent School District, TX
Niche User: Union Grove High School is one of the best schools in East Texas. Every part of the school is wonderful. The students, teachers, and staff there are all like a big family. It is one of the smallest schools in the area, but that is a part of why the school is so great. You get a chance to get to know everyone, and you may not know everything about everyone but you do know everyone's names. All the teachers care about their students and love to help them understand their work. The staff help you the best they can at all times. Overall I would say it is the best school in East Texas.

Roanoke Catholic School
- Private School
- Roanoke, VA
- PK, K-12
Senior: Roanoke Catholic is a school that teaches students belong the classroom and prepares them for either college. In the past years, 100 percent of Catholic seniors have attended college and this year the seniors have received over 2.5 million in scholarships. I started Roanoke Catholic two years ago and it was a big change coming from public school. In public schools you could slide by without doing your homework, but at Roanoke Catholic all work is required and graded as a test grade. Roanoke Catholic does not let you fall through the cracks. I also must say the food is outstanding!!
One thing I really did not like were the uniforms. In public school you basically wore what you want, but not in private school. My first year the gentlemen had to wear a shirt and tie during the winter and in the summer a polo shirt with the school’s logo and khaki pants or shorts. This year they changed the dress code to where gentlemen could wear the polo shirt and khaki pants all year around.

Gladewater High School
- Gladewater Independent School District, TX
Senior: Gladewater Highschool, like every high school was an eye opener going from middle school to high school. I went from struggling to make it to classes on time and to the right classes to easing my way to being able to talk to friends heading to class. Gladewater has helped me with getting ready for the real world from the start, they have a great staff who do there absolute hardest to keep the school going and functioning properly each day. The teachers are all a great help when we need it, they go through each lesson carefully to break it down to where we understand the concepts to keep us going forward in our studies. What I liked about the high school most was the athletics department, the teams there at gladewater are all fairly well. The coaches guide us throughout giving us tips on how to improve ourselves, not just for the sport but how to improve ourselves with our relationships with family and friends and how to keep a consistent and positive mindset in our everyday lives.
