Douglass High School
- Douglass Public Schools, KS
Senior: I love Douglass High School and I would not mind bringing my kids back to go to school in Douglass. Two year ago, Douglass got remodeled and it is 100% more safe now. The school also got remodeled on the inside and the set up of the classroom and administration offices is very convenient for the teachers and students. The teachers have always been very well at making sure that we, as students, understand what they are teaching and all of the teachers make sure to be involved in our lives. They also will get involved in the student activities which makes them really great! Douglass is a 3A school, which is decently small, but we have amazing facilities that are kept very well kept and clean. We have better facilities than most other schools, even 4A. I am very blessed to say that I am going to be in the Douglass High School's graduating class of 2019.

Senior: My favorite thing about Augusta High School is the wide amount of opportunities they give students to succeed. Students have the opportunity to excel in sports, drama, education and many more areas, unique to themselves. I was given the opportunity to excel in education and complete two years of college credits while still in High school, and I am so thankful!

Junior: My school provides so many amazing services when it comes to our future. It provides dual credit for students, like myself, to attend college and still get credits for their high school requirements. Because of this I am getting to graduate a semester early to get a head start on my career. The teachers are very personal and develop professional and friendly relationships with the students to ensure the best possible education. On top of all of this, there are so many fun activities going on to be a part of. Whether if its joining a club or starting your own. We do not have school on Friday's and it is just the best thing ever. Students can be a part of any activity and still have opportunities to catch up on school work so they do not fall behind.

Parent: School is good, however it has some issues. If you have issues with religion in e lementry school beware, I've found Christian books in my daughter's classrooms, vbs flyers sent home, a Christian section in the book fair.
No school on Halloween ever, no Halloween party, no costume parade.
I have had issues with bullying improperly addressed by administration. Other parents I've spoken too gave had this same issue.
Teachers are good, though I've had to jump through hoops to get my daughter extra help. Facilities are good.
Drop off and pick up are a nightmare.
I know this review is full of negatives, but the school is great, especially compared to all others in the area. Generally, my child is happy and learning. My above comments are simply items to be aware off and watch for.
