University City Senior High School

Senior: University City High School is actually a great school. Schools have there ups and downs, but Ucity students and faculty are family. We uplift eachother and we are very active in and around outback school . We have had great pep rallies for sports , protests in the community, plays, musicals, and games. My school is pretty amazing. Almost every one in our school either plays a sport at some point in the year or is envolved in clubs at school as well as in other activities. Ucity is also very diverse and we all get along like we should. I think that our teachers do an outstanding job preparing us for the future, our future. Our generation is the future and we hold success in the palm of our hands.

Parent: Community School has been the best possible choice for our family. We could not be happier. Every morning, Head of School, Bob Cooke, greets each child with a handshake as they enter school. I love this tradition, as it truly exemplifies the nurturing aspect of the school. In this simple gesture, each child is recognized daily as a respected and important individual within the entire community – my children are known by all the children, teachers, and administrators throughout the school. The academics are fantastic, and the learning extends so much further than the classroom. My favorite part of the curriculum is the emphasis on public speaking. It’s amazing to hear the nursery students (age 3!) confidently share their birthdays to the entire lunch room during their birthday months. For dual-working families, like mine, the options for extended day and after-school programs are abundant and appreciated. Community School gets my vote as the top elementary school in St. Louis.
