Hillsboro High School

Senior: When I go to Hillsboro High School, the first word that comes to my mind is “Eliteness.” The whole place just feels elite, from our striving sports to the academic success. The lunches are great and everyone treats each other like family. We have plenty of events throughout the year to take part in and there are plenty of pep rallies for the striving athletics. The only thing I would change is our principle. He is not the kindest soul and has slightly taken the “fun” aspect of school away. If he were to brighten up and loosen up a bit, the school might very well be one of the most prestigious schools in the state.

High School Junior: Ever since coming here, I've been involved in so many things. My friends are supportive and so are my teachers, who just so happen to be my sports coaches also. This type of support is the reason why my parents and I made the decision to come to Kickapoo High. The student organizations are a big part of my life and can be stressful at some times but I'd never change it; it's who I am. Because the school is small more people can be in the organizations and sports teams. Our sports teams do not have tryouts and many students are glad, as am I. If our school had tryouts for any of our teams, many of our students who currently play for these teams would never do well enough to make it onto the team. Basically, I love my school.

Senior: Wayland is a great experience for all students! The student body is less than 200 students and about half of the students are international. Overall, there are students from 32 different countries, which makes this school very diverse compared to all the public schools and many other boarding schools in the nation.
The Academy becomes strict when it comes to academics; They treat the school as if it were a college. The average class size is 14 students per class. With the class size being very small, there is more 1 on 1 times with the teacher during or outside of class.
Although athletics might not be the best, it is good for students to be able to get lots of playing time on the field or court, even though they are not a star player. There are also many clubs and other activities outside of athletics.
Overall, I think Wayland is a great school and I definitely recommend it!
