Lowville High School
394 Best Public High Schools in New York
- Lowville Academy & Central School District, NY
Senior: Lowville Academy is a great place to learn. Different materials and subjects are taught well by the teachers to the students so that students understand. The class sizes are small, so teachers are usually able to do one on one with a student or help one when they are in need. The atmosphere is very friendly and everyone knows each other. Although, the curriculum can be hard and sometimes a little difficult to understand, Lowville teaches us to get assignments done on time and receive help if we need it. I have gone to this school my whole life and I have grown a liking within it.

Senior: Totally prepares you for college courses and college life! The teachers really work with you and care about you. The campus is 1200 acres, truly amazing. It's an all boys school grades 9-12 with about 100 boys per grade. It's boarding students only (no day) so your friends are with you all the time.

South Lewis Middle School
- South Lewis Central School District, NY
Parent: The majority of the teachers at South Lewis are very devoted to helping our children succeed. There is always a "bad apple" every now and again. Every child is given the opportunity for success. When it comes to "tools" to help better educate our children, SL is certainly on top. Computers or ipads for every student, this year the school even paid for the kids supplies, smart boards in every class room, a 3D printer in the tech room. We are slowly getting more diverse as well with primarily Spanish speaking immigrants. One thing I don't like, Spanish is the only foreign language option. I wish the students had a choice of at least two if not three. I also cannot say enough good things about our schools FFA program.
