Senior: I love Booker T. Washington for the school culture! The academics at Booker T. is unmatched by the variety of AP and IB courses offered. College readiness is highly encouraged and counselors are excited to help you start the new chapter in your life as we even have an Ivy League-specific college advisor. The athletics and arts programs are well funded and have won many awards. The diversity at Booker T. is the best in Tulsa, Ok. Middle School Student: I've been a student at Oakdale since Pre-4. Oakdales a great school and the more we grow, the more upgrades we're getting! I remember when Oakdale was just a small building with a playground and a tennis court. We now have 3 gyms, a track, a football field, 2 playgrounds, and the building is so much bigger! Senior: I came to Harding Charter Preparatory High School in 2019 as a freshman with no friends. I did not know what to expect, but I knew it would be a significant change from my previous school based on Harding's excellent academic reputation. I was quickly welcomed with open arms and taken under the wings of the teachers. I was not treated as just another student but felt a personal connection with everyone. Harding has been my home for the past four years, and I have loved every minute of it. The workload was sometimes intense, but it was all worth it and has paid off. Thanks to Harding Charter Preparatory High School, the teachers, and the students, I now have 13 college acceptances and will attend postsecondary education for free. Parent: After attending Pauls Valley school, I had to get my son in a different environment. At Whitebead, he's a loved individual, not a check mark for funding. Whitebead looks at a child and says "How valuable he is!" instead of "How valuable are his parents?", which is what we ran into with PV school. He's getting moral support and academic support. Teachers expect a lot from their students. That just means they care enough to push them to succeed. Whitebead was the best decision we could have made regarding the education of our child.... Parent: This is our 1st year at Cleora Public School! It is a wonderful small school that cares about the needs of every child. This year they were able to provide free breakfast and lunch, flu shots, and family activity sports passes for the basketball games to everyone. They work to level playing field so all of their students can succeed. I have had a positive experience with the administration, teachers, special education, and speech. Great communication! Senior: It's an incredible school. Teachers highly encourage students to try their best and achieve their goals. We are considered the best high school in the state of Oklahoma. Our International Baccalaureate program is nationally ranked. The Visual Performing Arts program creates the most outstanding artists in Oklahoma. We've had students going to their dream schools such as Princeton. As a senior from Classen School of Advanced Studies, they provide one of the best educations I have ever been taught. Senior: At Memorial High School, a diversified as well as academically focused administration is prevalent. During my attendance of four years I had rarely seen instances of under satisfaction and rather more instances of academic challenge to promote critical thinking. Our school's fundraising campaign referred to as "Swine Week" is greatly regarded as our school spirit in which we raise hundred's of thousand's of dollars to contribute to a select foundation. This in turn gathers the community as well as the families and students in an effort to create a benefitted, sufficient, and successful community as a whole. Senior: I have gone to Jenks public schools my whole life. My brothers graduated here and had many experiences! I participated in sports, became the VP of a club, and still see many opportunities for everything to join and get involved everywhere. We are a large school so having those clubs and activities really helps to stay connected. I have had great teachers and some not-very-good teachers- it definitely depends, I have definitely learned I am a light critiquer of everything! Middle School Student: This school is like most, except for a few notable areas. It has an extensive and large TSA program, as well as a special class called Mustang Productions which is a combination film/media class. Also, the eighth graders get personal laptops. Next year (2018), the seventh graders will as well, and then the year after, so will the sixth years. The biggest drawback is lack of teachers. Class sizes are ok. But due to the lack of willing teachers in Oklahoma , schools struggle to attract teachers. Thus Cheyenne has a large amount of average-subpar teachers- the bottom of the barrel. Don't get me wrong, there are some FANTASTIC teachers (Mrs. Macrory comes to mind) but there are a lot of second-stringers. Some are brand new- and I don't mean out of college. There are people who have never taught a day in their life who were roped in at the last second this year. Only a few teachers are truly bad, and only a few great. Middle School Student: i am currently in 7th grade and going to sequoyah. my experience here has been awesome. my teachers have been great. the person that reviewed this school and put a one star because of students on their phones without a doubt came in the school before the bell rang, which is a time before school when we can be on our phones. my time at this school has been amazing i will be going to another school next year because i'm moving i wish i could stay another year but that's not my choice to make. thank you sequoyah and i will savor the last couple months a have at this school....
