Senior: I started going to Eden Prairie Highschool as a junior. It was overwhelming to move from a school of 300 to 3000, but I was pleasantly surprised by how diverse the school was and how social everyone was. At first, I didn't actually care too much for the school outside of academics and graduating but with the wide array of clubs here, I found a few new interests. I'm apart of the DND club and I love it! Most clubs are completely student-run which makes it feel less like an extra class and more like a hangout to express your interests. Academic-wise, I'm actually stunned at the amount of interesting and unique classes you can be apart of. I mean, there's a whole class dedicated to historical assassinations and nothing else! Although, coming from Canada, the lack of information counselors give you about everything is kind of disappointing. I didn't know how important the ACT was, nor did I know where to go for scholarships. That's really my only complaint. Solid 9/10 otherwise!... Read 661 reviews

Junior: Compare to other high schools that I’ve visited both in-state and out-state, Minnetonka High School has got to be one of the best High Schools. With its tremendous amount of resources and choices such as academic help, technology, conveniences, courses, clubs, activities, etc. Minnetonka generally has it all! However during this year we’ve had a lot of issues that seems to make this school less convenient. The biggest example is the food choices where we can choose to go to snack stands such as the dock to get snacks or drinks. However due to staff shortages and COVID-19 many stands were close and that the dock is only open during the morning which is a problem for many students, like myself, during lunch since I would always be hungry after I ate my lunch. Parent: The BEST SCHOOL in Minnesota if not on earth! I absolutely love this school for the administration, nurse and everyone else who works there. My daughter has Special needs and she is treated with so much of care and love that I feel blessed for us to be so lucky! Their Special needs program is word class probably the best in the world. Its no wonder parents from all over the country Move to Minneapolis just to put their kids in this school! It really is the GOLDEN Ticket for your children! Middle School Student: Great school with great academics but a couple of the teachers are mean and/strict, 7th grade Social Studies with my experience. Also has a great immersion program and languages that helps students learn what they want. Senior: I wish Orono would be more welcoming to new students. Even with the amount of clubs and outside activity including sports is very helpful with new students, but it is something that could be improved. Although, the positive here at Orono High School are that the teachers are super friendly and take the time to make sure you understand all or any material. Another positive is sports. Having done 2 sports in the stance of 4 years here, it is very helpful in the process of making friends and getting to know people through Cross Country and Track and Field. Niche User: I go to this school, it’s great. Teachers are very kind and helpful, it offers gifted and talented classes. Food is overall average just like most elementary schools. The specialists include: Physical education, Music classes, Library class, Art class, technology, and Spanish for the 4th and 5th graders. For the 5th graders there is a program called D.A.R.E and they learn about: Drugs & Alcohol, Tobacco, and how to make safe choices. Parent: Oak Point is an extremely well run, organized, safe and amenable Elementary school for my daughter. We are so pleased with our teacher, and all the programs available to our 7 year old. Communication is wonderful as we get emails and texts regarding every alert or change which allows us to plan for our days and weeks. The Eagle Zone after care program is really economical and my daughter always has so munch fun in it. We are very pleased with how they have handled covid, being safe and following CDC guidelines but also being flexible so as to not impact the children's learning experience. Very grateful for the school lunches (both breakfast and lunch) that are provided to my daughter through the federal program put in place by President Biden. The technology aspect of my daughter's curriculum is also at vanguard. My daughter has improved her reading skills to the point where she will pick up her books willingly.... Read 2 reviews

Senior: Being at Lakeville South Highschool, brings a lot of great energy at festival in the school. Where as it's a school where diversity tend to be. Being here not only showed me how great the teacher are but it showed me that everyone in the school cares about how you feel as a person! Being an African American who moved from a different school during sophomore year. I can tell you personally that when I moved here, I was an introvert but being here made me and extrovert. People here create an environment where you feel safe, loved, wanted, and most importantly needed. The family and culture at Lakeville South is unbelievable, meaning everyone is part of something in the school. One last important thing that made me realize how great this school was when I had no idea about how to be ready for college but with the help of my deans, teachers,friends and family they have a system where they want EVERYONE to succeed no matter what race or gender you are.... Parent: The further you are from Minneapolis/St. Paul, the less diverse your school will be, that’s true. However, as a person of color, I have appreciated our experience at Deephaven. We believe in the administration and the teachers. We appreciate the Spanish immersion program. We enjoyed the new world culture night event this year. We like the fact that the school fundraisers involve raising money for field trips, library books, and math and reading programs. As far as I can tell, no one is expected to donate money, it is optional. A school is what you make of it. If you send your kids to Deephaven and get involved as a family through volunteerism and/or by attending events, I believe you can meet people, create your own community, and have a very rewarding experience.... Parent: Groveland is amazing! We moved here from out of state and my daughter was behind in reading. Within the first weeks she was given a "reading helper," and made amazing progress! There are many instances where my kids needed extra help or have been "ahead" on something. Groveland teachers always identified things quickly and were able to get extra resources to help, or extra learning opportunities to challenge them. The resources and attention to individual learning needs are phenomenal. Most importantly, the teachers and staff CARE - and that is saying SO much - just to have someone put some serious effort in when things need fixing. I will always be a huge Groveland Supporter because of that reason! Is Groveland perfect? Certainly not, but nothing is. We wish for more diversity (I'd say we're 'average' for this area, though, sadly) and for EVERY kid in the school to be a kind and caring human... but parents need to take accountability for that, too!... Middle School Student: Yes, it is possible to enjoy middle school. There are a lot of kids at the school but the classes are small and specialized. The teachers know all the kids very well and work hard to reach them. Fulltime Latin program starting in 6th grade, not many schools offer Latin - most importantly the kids LOVE it and even have a float in the Homecoming parade. Great music programs, orchestra, band and choir. Scholarships make it possible for kids who can't afford to rent an instrument to do so, and it's all very discreet.... Read 6 reviews
