Parent: St. Mary’s is pure magic! I have two daughters here, and watching their love for learning develop has been remarkable. ACADEMICS: St. Mary’s uses the premier curriculums touted in education circles. That explains why so many Memphis educators send their daughters here! My girls come home enchanted with what they’ve learned and the kinesthetic ways they’ve been taught. WELL-BEING: In Chapel, the girls recite the St. Mary’s prayer: “Keep the students of health in mind, soul, and body.” This is prioritized with regular religious, counseling, artistic, and athletic opportunities to hone their creativity & emotional health. I appreciate that the topics discussed are age-appropriate, giving our girls the gift of being little for as long as possible. Parent: The building is wonderful. I am proud to send my kids here. The teachers are beyond friendly and well appreciated. There is not any cliques or judgement. Everyone just helps each other when needed. I would go to any family for help and I hope they would do the same with me. My kids always talk about how good their lunch is. I offer to make them lunch, but nope, they do not want it! The administration is really involved. I would recommend this school to anyone who asks. Parent: We love our TIGERS! School pride where everyone is welcomed is why our family chose this school! We love that everyone is together and welcomed! The SPED program is exceptional and intervention team is amazing! I wish we would have moved here sooner! All of the teachers just welcomed our two kids with loving arms and half’s to hold. Middle School Student: I have been a student in Arlington Schools for 9 years and with my experience AMS and really all Arlington schools provides great education for all students regardless of learning differences. As a gifted student I have had many great experiences and I have friend who do not have learning differences and they agree that the teachers give us a great education. The teachers really care about you and know how to handle a classroom responsibly and respectfully. You can choose from 5 day band, 5day orchestra, 5 day chorus, 3 day PE 2 day art or 3 day art 2 day PE. There are also many after school activities. Senior: My overall experience has been very good. Especially with how they handled online school because of COVID. I really feel I still learned a lot even though I was not physically in the school. I have really enjoyed my classes because of the personal interactions with my teachers. They do a very good job of making sure all the students are getting what they need out of their classes. Because of this I feel prepared for college. White Station High has many clubs and activities to choose from. You can even start your own club if it is not offered. It is a very diverse campus. The administration is the best. Any time you email the principal, she responds right away. The music and arts programs are awesome! I participate in the arts and I have really enjoyed it. With the help of the great parent organization, our school facilities have been updated recently by adding an outdoor classroom area. The administration makes sure it is a safe environment.... Senior: I love Lewisburg High School! The school offers a great selection of courses that cater to my interests. In fact, DeSoto County Schools have a program called Career Tech that I was and am involved in. It allows me to explore Health Science as I hope to go into dentistry. The best part about Lewisburg is the feeling of community that is created between the staff and students. The counselors and teachers are very helpful in preparing me for college. The custodians were always friendly and made my days. My school’s resource officer always cracked jokes and made sure everyone was safe. The lunch ladies always had amazing food for the students and were the sweetest group of people. I did not have an experience that hindered how I feel about Lewisburg. Parent: I am the parent of a rising 6th grader that just completed his 6th and final year at Dogwood as well as a rising 4th grader. Both of my children love Dogwood! I appreciate the support of their teachers as both children have different needs and abilities. The administration is incredible at supporting the development of the "whole child". Even in recent situations where one of my kids made a poor behavior decision, the administration was clearly focused on being sure to correct the behavior without having the child walk away feeling shamed or anxious. Parent: This is an amazing school for academic. I love the size and warm, personal feel of the school culture. The way the teachers helped me help my children with technology was stunning. There were just so many apps I could not keep up with. The administration is supportive of everyone's needs and is present at every event. I would recommend this school to anyone! Parent: My family has had an amazing experience at Bailey Station! This school is full of top-notch, caring teachers and staff. It really feels like a family from the moment you walk in the door. Everyone is so friendly and is genuinely excited to be there. My son has grown so much not only academically, but socially and emotionally! I’m amazed at all the things he’s learning. Communication is a strength as my husband and I always know what’s going on through regular emails, videos, etc from teachers and administration. I feel like I can reach out to my child’s teacher and they are more than willing to help in any way. Parent: Collierville Schools as a whole displays signs of favoritism to adults and children. There are far too many cliques and the school board is ran by some modern version of hlitre (figure out the spelling to that) The way that CS treats people is absolutely horrid. CS belongs on the news and to have all of their state funding taken away. I would rather be locked away in a "chokey" than to ever be faced with the trauma I faced as this beautiful school system again.... Read 1 review
