Senior: Renaissance High is an excellent school for academically-motivated students. From the renowned International Baccalaureate program to the ISU AA program, students have the full support behind them of everybody from faculty to administration. There is not a better Idaho high school for college preparation! Renaissance also has great facilities - it is designed to reflect many aspects of a college with open ceilings and tables+chairs throughout. With that said, Renaissance is not without its flaws. Some are turned off by the lack of athletics at RHS, which is understandable. The school allows student athletes to compete with their boundary schools, but it's simply a different experience than the other athletes. The culture at RHS is very, very progressive and some may not be comfortable with that aspect either. Some students report feeling left out or even disliked if they do not fit in with this culture. Junior: I am currently a junior at MMACHS and attending this school has been one of the best decisions I have ever made! The staff and students are amazing people, and to me, they feel like my second family. Everything at MMACHS is amazing, whether it be the academics or the extracurricular activities. Furthermore, this school has provided me with so many opportunities that I wouldn’t have been able to experience if I was at a public Highschool. Senior: I have loved my time at Meridian Technical Charter High School. The small class sizes have made me more confident in myself and my leadership skills. I love being able to have a close relationship with my teachers so they can get to know me as a student. The students are always eager to learn and you get a sense of community within your grade and even people outside of your grade level. Even though it's not your typical high school experience, MTCHS helps you prepare for life after high school. In my experience, my required senior year internship was not only paid, but they also hired me on as an employee when I was finished with my 280 hours. Not many people can say that they were able to get a full time job right out of high school in the field that they want to go into, and I only got that because of the internship program at MTCHS.... Alum: It is a good school. The small classes make it easy to learn and easy to make friends. I’ve graduated now, but when I was there I loved it. However, since I’ve gone, I’ve heard that there’s been bullying and the rules have gotten stricter. A bad thing about this school is that the rules are very tight and many of them are not important. There was a general feeling of anger towards the faculty because of that. However, the education is exceptional, and I heard that many classes are taught one grade level above what is required. When I was there, they had choir, theater, creative writing, extra math, and PE as their extracurriculars. That was a few years ago, so I expect they’ve expanded or improved on their classes. High School Senior: I loved my overall experience at Heritage Middle School. The school is very unique in that, there is very little bullying and everyone gets along. The administrators and teachers make sure that everyone is treated fairly. I could really tell that the teachers truly cared about their students and always took extra time to make sure their students were understanding the concepts. Parent: Andrus Elementary has one of the few Gifted and Talented magnet programs in the State. It is an incredible program for those children that qualify. The award winning elementary music program is rare for our state. The music teacher is extraordinary and one of the best parts of the school. Andrus is also one of the few elementary schools that have an orchestra. The administration has had a great deal of turnover the past few years but, the teachers remain consistent for the most part. The parking lot is a bit difficult to maneuver. The school certainly could have been set up better geographically but the caring and loving staff makeup for that flaw. The PTA is top notch & parent involvement is high. After having 4 of my 5 children attend Andrus, I have found they are well prepared for the transition to middle school and beyond. Overall, I would highly recommend this school as a safe, welcoming, and educationally sound learning environment for children.... Read 2 reviews

Freshman: As a student of Victory Middle School for 3 years, and I can honestly say that I LOVED my experience. The teachers aren't afraid to get close to their students and are always willing to help out. They also have many different opportunities for students to help them grow. There are classes to both help you improve when you struggle, as well as advanced and honors classes to challenge you and prepare you for not just high school, but college. Plus, the music courses are so fun. I was in choir for 3 years and my teacher was supportive of everyone, quirky, helpful, supportive, and one of my favorite teachers. Also, the students are great. Everyone is kind, and friendly and is willing to help out a peer. This school was amazing! I owe thanks to all the teachers at this school that I was close to because they helped prepare me for the high school that I was fortunate to attend. I recommend this middle to ANYONE! Parent: We hoped that it could have become an art magnet school sooner. Love the parent involvement encouraged by teachers and administration. Especially love how the Title one and other parent volunteers assist in the learning process for all students at Chief Joseph. Wished that we didn't have to have the lottery system in order to attend the school that is closest to our home. Parent: With all the uncertainty in the world, I was hesitant to send my first born to school. He wanted to do in-person learning so I looked into all our options from public to private to charter schools. Many of my friends kids attend the Gem Meridian campus and love it so we chose the Gem Nampa location. I’m so glad we did! All the staff genuinely care about all the kids. The school keeps you up to date with all your children’s needs via a free app that’s easy to download to your phone. Staying in touch with your kids teacher and the staff couldn’t be easier! Everyone at GPN is very responsive and absolutely wonderful! Volunteer whenever you want - there’s no secrets at this school. I feel very confident we made a great decision with GPN! Go owls!... They’re APA classes as well as the dual credit classes they offer make it unique compared to other charter schools within the area.
