Senior: I've had an overall positive experience here. There's a good amount of school spirit among the student body. We have great teachers! The counselors are helpful as well as the administrators. There are a wide variety of classes offered, which means you can tailor your schedule to fit your interests. The fine arts program is really great, that's what I'm personally involved in. Parent: Excellent school! The teachers and administrators at High Shoals Elementary go above and beyond for the students. We could not be happier. They stay in contact with the parents via a mobile app. All students in Oconee County schools are provided with a laptop, that they keep through the summer; and are updated every two years to new laptops. Sophomore: For most of my life, I've been in public schools pre-k through 9th. I was given the opportunity to go to school at Monsignor Donovan High School. Going from a public school to a College Prep school is my biggest accomplishment, thanks to my 4.0 GPA the school paid more than half of my tuition(scholarship). It was a hard transition with being below level than my new peers, but Monsignor has helped me go above & beyond. With lots, of AP courses, clubs, and community services that can help you with college, this school has been the best decision. I definitely recommend this school to prepare for the future.... Senior: Overall I have had a great time at Oconee County in terms of the faculty. The teachers here are amazing and for the most part extremely well knowledgeable on all topics they teach. The teachers are smart but above their educational prowess is their relationships with the students. There are many teachers who I can come too if I need anything or have a problem in which they may be able to help. I have fantastic relationships with multiple teachers and faculty which, to me, is extremely rare so I am very thankful for that. The worst part about it is that sometimes the student body can be a little egotistical and mean but that is to be expected by a bunch of teenagers and in no way should reflect the overall function of the school as an education center. The school lunch is okay and I have grown to call the old blue and white my home. It has been a delightful experience with many opportunities to gain education and connections. Go warriors!!... Senior: My experience at jefferson high has not been bad as most people would say about being in high school. Senior: I have had a very interesting experience at Clarke Central. My freshman year was short because it was during the pandemic, and my 10th grade year was also shorter than a normal school year. Although we were faced with difficult circumstances, I felt the teachers tried their hardest to make school a good environment. The only bad part of Clarke central would be the students, who a lot of the time have no control and no respect. Overall, Clarke Central is a good school and the students need to change.... Junior: Commerce High School is small compared to other high schools. We have a little over 500 students. One thing that I like about this school is that you can be who you are without getting judged. We don't have many clicks, like other high schools. The so called "popular" groups and "Nerds" are friends. Here it's okay if your smart, or apart of a club. If on a rainy day someone does talk about you, there are even more who's got your back. Commerce make sure everyone feels welcome, and if your not we help you get through it. It's not like any other school where if your different, you get picked on. Take it from a girl who was adopted and wears skirts all the time. If I could change anything about this school it would be for us to get more funding towards more programs. Also if the football players could do something for the cheerleader at the end of the season, it would be amazing, because the cheerleaders dedicate so much time, effort and money for the football players.... I struggled with burn out, self-esteem issues, and anxiety, but without those experiences, I wouldn't have learned how to cope or become stronger.
