Parent: Both my kids have had a great experience at Giddens, I highly recommend it! My daughter is in middle school now but frequently comes back to visit. We've found Giddens teachers and staff to be caring, dedicated and committed to ensuring each individual students needs are being met, both academically and on a social/emotional level. Senior: Extracurriculars are fun and welcoming. Competition is motivating but our team and connection keeps everything more enjoyable than stressful. My classes are in depth and my teachers ensure we are successful which keeps us from becoming discouraged. Our course catalogue has a wide variety of topics and difficulties so students can set their own pace of learning and explore their own interests. Over my entire high school career I have taken eight advanced placement classes to prepare for higher education and push the potential of my high school experience. We have several enrichment programs including NJROTC, music, and arts. I personally have taken art and NJROTC classes at Curtis, both of which I greatly enjoy. I have only had pleasant experiences with the staff at my school, my teachers have truly worked hard to ensure their students' success. Senior: My school is rather nice for the most part. Other students including myself have a strong system in place to support our academic goals and various extracurricular activities as well. My school also has very few issues with bullying, and I find that it is incredibly easy to talk with other students even if I've only just met them. The biggest issues the school seems to have been a lack of school pride and lack of communication between students and staff. Parent: My son has done so well at Summit Olympus! As a child that struggles with learning, the smaller class sizes and specialized learning experience has made such a difference in him. He has been able to access extra help after school, and the teachers really encourage him to be self motivated and responsible for his academic success. I was especially impressed with how quickly the school had the learning platform up and ready, and the teachers learned how to use online teaching methods when the school shut down for COVID-19! My student was down a couple of days of learning, while most schools were down weeks to even months before they were really up and running. High School Junior: The academics are really the best of the area when it comes to middle school education. When I was there I loved my english and science teachers. The science facilities are great and the students sit at group tables rather than desks. The district does not have a high school so the schools weren't held as closely to the state requirements, there was more time for learning about things that invested the students. Parent: There are so many aspects of Bullis that we love and it is hard to fit them all in one review! We have 3 children at the school who are very different learners, different personalities and different interests. Yet each is thriving at Bullis and the teachers meet each of their needs. We love that school is joyful and fun. Our kids WANT to go to school and have fun learning. They get a great balance of academics, arts, athletics, STEM, etc. It is a nice community of parents and friends who watch out for each other and help each other.
