Senior: Milton Area High School offers many opportunities to be involved! I am actively involved with sports, clubs and leadership opportunities. One of the best parts has been the opportunity to participate in the basketball program. It has taught me a lot about grit, perseverance and hard work that I have been able to carry over into other areas of my life. Milton has also provided the opportunity for me to participate in diversified occupations which has allowed me to get into the hospital to work during my senior year. Junior: The overall experience rating I would give my school is a 7/10. For myself, I am very interested in mathematics and physics, and I believe this school does have great teachers who are motivated to teach their students, especially for the math and science departments. The art and STEM program is quite diverse and large, with multiple STEM labs for woodworking, engineering, metals, and other jobs to prepare kids for trade jobs and science careers. Plenty of clubs in my school to suit your interests, whether that is helping the community, playing an instrument, traveling abroad, or even just being interested in board games. Some of the worst parts of my experience include an air of disrespect among students towards teachers and their peers, with fights occurring more often than what is comfortable, which is not to say that any amount of fighting is comfortable. High School Senior: When we were facing budget cuts we were all sad and disappointed. But all of the students came to the board meeting for support. When they started talking about cutting the music department everyone strted yelling. Our band then came out playing our Alma matter. The room was filled with school pride and spirit.
