Senior: Fort Myers High was a very welcoming school when I first got there. Throughout my 4 years there, I received so much help from all of the staff. With one of my teachers introducing me to track, I am now going to college on and athletic scholarship. The IB program I feel has prepared me so much for college. I was involved in many clubs in which many teachers sponsored them. There was not one time I felt like I was on my own throughout my high school career. Fort Myers was a great choice in receiving my high school diploma, especially offering different types of learning including IB, AP, AICE, dual enrollment, honors and traditional classes. I feel that Fort Myers is also very welcoming to special need students as there are so many staff who are willing to help. One of my track coaches knew sign language so anyone could participate!... Freshman: This year was my first year at North. I actually quite enjoyed it however there were some bumps. We had a few pep rallies and a bunch of movie nights. The football games are highlighted at our school along with out arts! Arts is a big part of North’s history. Our band department is involved with many of our events and helps out so much. It’s an experience many of the students are involved. Even though I’m not in band I know many people who are and they enjoy it so much! Another big part of North is the AICE program. I am a part of AICE and recommend it for students with high grades, capability to do harder work, and also do good on timed tests. AICE looks good on college applications. I do have to say that you just definitely get involved in the clubs at North especially the ones that raise money for children’s hospitals and help out with the life skills classrooms. Other: It was a small but welcoming high school with a very close-knit community. I ran for the track and cross country team, where I became close with my team. I enjoyed attending pep rallies, theater shows, and educational events. The best part about experiencing this was going with my friends to each event. The worst part of my high school experience was during covid due to the lockdown. I felt isolated and ended up losing my closest friends at the time. During my senior year, however, everything started to look up. I made new friends, started going out more since covid restrictions were being lifted, and did my best during my track and cross races. Cape Coral High School did everything possible to make my experience as enjoyable as possible, even when the staff was restricted on what they could do. I am glad to have been a Seahawk!... Alum: Cypress Lake High School was an amazing experience and allowed me to connect with teachers and other students through their Center For The Arts program. The school promotes a safe and creative environment I would have not received anywhere else in the Fort Myers area. Their AP classes were also a fun and educational experience. It allowed me to understand what I really wanted to do when I went into college and complete some classes ahead of time if I received a high score on my AP Exams. Niche User: This school is positively the best elementary school out there! Some of my most cherished childhood memories stem from this place. The staff is very warm and kind, and they have a genuine interest in helping every student succeed. They also teach children and educate them far better than any other elementary school I've been to, and they teach creatively as well. They are always aware of the student's safety also. I remember cultivating my love for reading here. I remember when we all had a "Roman", "Chinese", and "Pilgrim" day, when we would devote a whole day to living and learning as each of these people did to further enrich our knowledge...we even wrote on wax as the Romans did that day! We also participated in plays set up by the school, were versed in how to write cursive and read Roman numerals well. Senior: I entered Ida Baker during 2020 when COVID was still a popular topic. My freshman year was not the ideal "high school experience." However, after freshman year I grew to really start enjoying school. I have always been in honor classes and started taking AICE classes my junior year. I am currently apart of Student Council as vice president. I love being involved in the school and making it better than it already is. My worst year was definitely junior year. There were a lot of plot twists during this year. Hurricane Ian had hit my city very badly and we were out of school for a month. Senior: My name is Camden Lucas. I am currently a senior. When it was time for high school, I had to decide, to stay with lifelong friends at my charter school's high school, or move to Mariner High school. I chose Mariner. My father, who happens to be Mariner's SRO, would be able to get me home right after school. This was a great thing, yet one of the most embarrassing times of my life. Thankfully, I turned 16 right before my junior year, and could drive myself! I played JV baseball my freshman and sophomore years, and JV football my junior year. The teachers were helpful and made it a little easier for me. The guidance counselors helped me get into dual enrollment, so I will have a head start on my college career. Overall, I am very happy with my decision to attend Mariner High. I made friends, but nothing compares to the ones you grow up with from elementary school. Junior: Lehigh Senior is a very nice school with plenty of opportunities. The classes are challenging to the point of growth and the teachers put effort into their teaching. I also really enjoy the extracurriculars here too! There's many fun art classes here and I've learnt a lot from them, leaving me feeling confident and very prepared for my future plans in college or career. Same goes for my academic classes, I always leave feeling like i've learned something new. Though, a thing I dislike about this school is probably the tight time schedule, but I'm aware that this is caused by the district. Since the school is big and spread everywhere it's quite a hassle trying to get from class to class on time. The community in this school is also very big and diverse in cultures, people, and hobbies which I absolutely love.
