We recently got a grant for around thirty mountain bikes to use on the trails behind our school. Sophomore: Overall, Ellsworth High School has been a great academic experience so far. I love the classes offered and the teachers genuinely want to see you succeed. A thing that I would like to see change is how the school deals with problems. At school, I hear about students getting into fights and just getting a 3-day suspension (the minimum suspension) and little to no more consequences for their actions. Another thing is bullying. Alum: The community is very supportive to the school and students with parents, family and friends involved in sports events and other activities. Teachers are helpful and also do a good job making sure students have the resources and support they need to succeed. Even through challenges of COVID, the school system worked to find creative ways to make the inconveniences less restrictive, realizing the difficulties to the kids. High School Senior: I spent my childhood growing up at this school. From 2003 to 2012 I was around the same people who became family and friends. Although it is a very small school, there are benefits to that as well, such as: knowing everyone, being able to have one on one help from teachers who care about every student, and staff who help you grow and learn throughout the years.... Middle School Student: I am currently in the 6th grade here, and it is great. Most teachers here will offer to stay after school and tutor you if you're falling behind in their subject. You can also take the late bus home for free if this is the situation. The cafeteria food is very nutritious, and recess contains little to no exclusions; everybody should get to play! The GT program is excellent (I can tell you firsthand!), and offers many opportunities within it, such as First Lego League. We also have a great selection of extracurricular activities, such as Soccer, Cross-Country, Basketball, Cheerleading, Baseball, Volleyball, Drama, Skills USA, the list goes on! Drama puts on our yearly play, and this year it's The Lion King. We also have a talent show that was introduced this year. They also help kids with disorders, such as ADHD, which my brother posses. They spend 20 minutes on one subject, then on to the next to help his short attention span stay focused. I would definitely reccomend it.... Read 1 review

Senior: Although my high school journey was cut short, it was the best time of my life. I met so many new people and made a ton of new friends while still keeping in touch with some old ones I had known since kindergarten. That’s right kindergarten. I come from a small town where it mergers with four others in order to create a high school. This made the experience even better. It gave each student a chance to really get to know their teachers and bond with them. The teachers were always reaching out to kids and helping them in any way they could, it’s a sumner thing. Niche User: What I most liked about Mountain View was the people. It was a school that encouraged you to grow. The staff was always supportive, and never once were my goals doubted. It was a place to meet new people, having the combination of two towns, it made it more of a High School atmosphere, which I think helped prepare me for Sumner. Last but not least the curriculum was challenging enough to prepare me for high school, but not too challenging where I ever felt left behind. The only thing that I would have changed about the school was the actual layout. From year to year there was different out buildings, and classrooms would get moved frequently. As far as I know that has changed. If I could go back in time I would definitely go back to a period where I was in that school.... Read 1 review
