Whitewright High School
1 Best Public High Schools in Grayson County
- Whitewright Independent School District, TX
Senior: I have attended Whitewright High School all 4 years and I am about to graduate! WHS is a very unique small town environment that I believe helped shape my very person. Im graduating as Valedictorian and STUCO President. The teachers are kind and actually care for you more than just academically. In addition, the athletic side of WHS is very good as it preaches hard work and dedication. There are a few problems however: The Food sucks, lack of college help, and not as many sports. Yet i think the school overall is pretty goo. The whole school and town are very friendly and I will never forget my experiences and friendships there. While there were some hardships i dont regret going to WHS!

Gunter High School
4 Best Public High Schools in Grayson County
- Gunter Independent School District, TX
Senior: I like that Gunter is a small town, and that is reflected in the school. The only problems I have with this school district is they're more worried about football than anything else (as demonstrated in their cutting the art program to hire more football coaches) and the administration is extremely political and do things to benefit themselves. Getting a new superintendent in recent years has alleviated some of that, but the problems still persist.
Other than those two problems, the academics are great and the high school itself is amazing.

Van Alstyne High School
5 Best Public High Schools in Grayson County
- Van Alstyne Independent School District, TX
Senior: The teachers really care about you and your future education. However, the dress code could be a little more relaxed, let the boys grow beards. Besides the dress code I have no other complaints about the school. Coming from a big school to little van Alstyne it was easy to tell that the environment was much better and there was a lot less alcohol and drug issues, witch is a very big positive. van Alstyne High School is a great school!

The Hockaday School
- Private School
- Dallas, TX
- PK, K-12
Junior: There is no other school like Hockaday. Our teachers challenge us with new topics and ideas in our studies, but also come out to support us in sports events and fine arts showcases. The friends that I have made at Hockaday compare to no where else. I always know that I can trust them, and, most importantly, make me laugh. Lastly, I know that after graduating that I will feel prepared to take on the world with both its exciting adventures and challenges with confidence after the Hockaday education I have received on lessons for in and outside of the classroom. Hockaday can at times be challenging but cultivates an inclusive, supportive, and positive community that I am proud to be a part of.

The Emery/Weiner School
- Private School
- Houston, TX
Sophomore: I could not ask for a more positive, welcoming, nurturing atmosphere than what I have received at Emery. The relatively small class sizes allow for more teacher involvement and more interconnectedness within grades. The teachers and faculty members truly care about the successes of each and every student. Emery has provided me with tremendous opportunities in sports, academics, and in virtually every other facet of my school life. I am proud to say that's I love my school!
