Sophomore: Northern Garrett High School has a large art program that is inclusive to all students who are interested. This ranges from the actual art class to theatre, marching band, chorus, concert band. The majority of the staff in Northern Garrett High School are helpful, kind, and encouraging. Senior: As a fellow student of Southern Garrett High School it is incredible of how many opportunities we have to choose from. We have different pathways to pursue throughout our high school journey, and each student may select at least one. I chose the Biomedical Pathway. Here I was able to perform PCR, gel electrophoresis, cow eye and brain dissections, watch virtual surgeries, build clay body models on a manikin, work with micropipettes during experiments, and collect research. When I take the final class this semester I will have the opportunity to enter a hospital setting. While the Biomedical is the only honors pathway there are many other pathways to choose from such as: Computer Science, Agriculture, Foods, Allied Health, and Engineering. There might be more. The Computer Science Pathway offers AP classes. Along with the pathways we have the ability to sign up for college classes through the dual enrollment program at Garrett College.
