Junior: Ashland High School has given me an amazing high school experience through the Covid-19 pandemic. The administration and the teachers have an interest in the students and try to give the students the best they possibly can. There are several different academic paths a student can take. There are CCP and AP classes available at Ashland High School and the colleges in the area allow upperclassmen to take full-time or part-time classes at their colleges. There are also several resources for students struggling with mental health and/or physical and mental disabilities. There are therapy dogs that come into the school and the counselors care for the students. The high school is also undergoing some construction, but there is finally AC in the upstairs, the concrete floors are carpeted, and the open pipes are covered by the ceiling. Senior: My experience at Black River High School has been quite pleasant overall. Something to really admire about the school is how close the community is. You will know everybody in your class, their parents, and a lot about them. You don't get these benefits at a larger school. For how little the school is (I have 89 kids in my graduating class) there are still great opportunities given to students. From being able to play sports from football, volleyball, track, golf, etc. To being able to take rigorous college credit classes, Black River has a little bit of everything.... Read 55 reviews

Senior: Hillsdale High School was an amazing school and is run very well by the most kind people ever. It is located in a small town with the best community where everyone knows everyone and supports each other. However; there are some flaws just like any other thing in the world we live in today. Hillsdale's rules are just a bit to strict. Hillsdale's staff follow each and every rule, which is not always a bad thing but they enforce these rules onto the students and limit our abilities to have the best high school experience possible. I see other schools around us doing things that would never be allowed at our school. Almost as if our school is being to controlling to the point where high school may not be the "best years of our lives" because the reins are held just a little to tight. Alum: Overall it was good. They always kept you up to date on scholarships that students could apply for. The stuck to the schedule that they gave you and if there was a problem with it then all people had to do was go to the guidance office and they would help figure out hoe to fix it or add classes or just whatever was needed. We had a school nurse and she was always nice to me even though I had never been in there because I was hurt or sick. I always saw her when I was In the guidance office and she always said hi and asked how my day was. The teachers really do care about the students education. If you are behind on a paper or didn't turn something in they are always asking or reminding to make sure you keep up on your work they assigned. The music department is very successful. They really are always completing and finding new pieces to challenge them. The sports programs are all pretty much run be teachers.... Read 64 reviews
