Parent: Depending on the team your student is placed on, they get slightly different experiences. The standards are the same, but the delivery and style of the teachers is very different. Sometimes the newer teachers will struggle to handle their classes and meet the needs of every child, but with so many teachers retiring these days, I think that's a given in many local districts. If you make sure your child reads every day and does their homework, then they will be challenged in their classes at AMS. The problem can be the students who don't have good role models at home and disrupt the learning of others in class. There are numerous opportunities for enrichment with a CLC program full of after-school activities, lots of school sports, Odyssey of the Mind, a great drama program and free after-school help from teachers who are always willing to stay with students and support them. The food is great in the cafeteria, and the administration is really trying to build a stronger school overall.
