Alum: It’s a shame the school is not rated hired on the national boarding school rankings. Culver attracts the most well rounded students in the country. The combination of intellectual skills, athletic ability, and leadership traits present in the study body is remarkable. The tops students attend, the top athletes and the top leaders. Senior: If you've seen any rankings/reviews, you know this school is rigorous. But because students choose to attend this high school, the student body consists of like-minded individuals who like learning and pushing academic boundaries There is a spot for everyone here—as each class is ~100 students, Signature has a very close-knit community. The faculty is amazing without exception; their love for teaching and care for the students is clear Signature feels like home. The countless clubs—with focuses in service, language/culture, academics, pride, sports (esp. recent years), etc—encourage intergrade interactions & relationships This school has an open campus! Many students go out to eat and most enjoy lunch outside. There are currently 3 buildings, and for this reason (considering it's in downtown Evansville), students must take extra care to be safe. Freshman: This school is excellent! I am currently a freshman and i have never felt more at home. There is however a concern that there are not in enough AP courses. I do not find this a problem because if you take advantage of the ones given to you colleges will acknowledge that. Junior: Carmel High School is a really large school, with a large student population. Its size provides a unique experience for students. Attending at CHS, you are unlikely to get to know even half of your peers. On the other hand, a large population comes with many staff, meaning you have a better chance at getting good teachers, which CHS has plenty of. Senior: Zionsville Community High school is a high school that excels in the success of their students. With the multitude of extracurriculars and resources available, they look for everyone in there school to succeed by every means possible. The faculty I feel is very dedicated to their students by creating a competitive environment the students are able to learn and grow in. With this being said, some students here feel that Zionsville High School does have their drawbacks that turns them against this school. Some feel Zionsville has become to restrictive on the students freedoms in and around the school that has made their experience here anything but enjoyable. Junior: The school has been nothing but extraordinary. It is one which gives a vast span academic rigor and the 11:1 student-faculty ratio gives an amazing opportunity for one-on-one student teacher time. The teachers and staffing do everything with student success in mind. Not only this, but there are many times throughout the day built in for students to meet with teachers in subject offices, complete homework or socialize. The school does an amazing job of providing a great balance between work and fun. With students constantly attending sporting events, club meetings and other school led activities, the different grade levels are able to interact. Also, it is not super religious. Students can participate in relies events at their choice. The school offers amazing scholarship opportunities and highly ranked athletic teams (2021-22 W. Volleyball, M. Soccer, M. Senior: Community really is the main focus of University High School, and this is what I have most appreciated in my time there. Senior: I have gone to Munster High School for all four years of high school. I'm proud to say i will be graduating from here. Munster acadamics is ahead of most other local schools even in the elementry schools. I remember transferring into the Munster School System in 3rd grade and realizes my old school was almost a grade level behind. The students already knew multipulation from 2nd grade and i have yet to learn past multiples of five. Munster provides great resources for students. They provide a club or sport for everyone to feel included. They provide an experience you will remember acadamically and non-acadamically. On a downside, i have had multiple experiences that they hired teachers that did not belong. Many teachers were fired or quit due to the high standards or the pressure from students that demand their education. When I came to Westfield High School, I got to take all sorts of classes, meet people with different backgrounds, interests, etc. and felt included in what I did, such as I took part in Westfield’s high school Dance Marathon for Riley Children’s hospital and feel welcomed at Westfield High School’s Gay Straight Alliance club. Senior: I have been attending LCA ever since I was in second grade. As a senior now, I’ve seen some benefits as well as some things that need to change. One thing I love about my school is the class sizes. With only 20 students in my grade, it helps us to connect to each other. I know everyone’s name, not just in my class but in the whole school, and everyone knows my name as well. Being in class where you know everyone provides a safe-feeling learning environment where you don’t feel judged. My class has always said, ever since elementary, that we are tight knit, like family who are always there for each other. I cherish that but that doesn’t make it perfect. There are parts of my school that I’d like to see change. My school struggles with money management. I think it would be beneficial for them to spend money on buying new textbooks because some of ours are outdated. Alum: My experience at Brownsburg high school was in between the years of 2016-2020 where I got to see the good and the bad. During my four years of high school I dealt with construction and COVID-19. With that being said though, Brownsburg was probably the best place I could have asked for to have such an amazing high school experience. With the entire school now almost completely renovated, the building allows a great space for students to learn everyday. The teachers are dedicated to giving their students a great education which was highly appreciated. They offer plenty of extracurriculars and AP classes for students who want to participate in sports, choir, clubs, or just challenge themselves in a more advanced learning. Overall, they are unmatched and with the size continuing to grow they still manage to make every student feel seen and appreciated. Alum: I attended Evansville Day for high school. The classes and student body are small, in a good way. Everyone knows literally everybody, and you meet people from all walks of life, from all over Evansville, Southern Indiana, and even Kentucky and Illinois. I was able to bypass required math and foreign language instruction in college thanks to advanced courses offered by Evansville Day. It offers the small sizes and elite academics with traditional high school social options. Although naturally smaller in scale, Evansville Day offers competitive athletics (particularly boys basketball) with fun atmospheres, typical events like prom and homecoming, and an award-winning musical arts program. There are additional fun events that only an Evansville Day-sized school can offer; Progressive Dinner, Intersession (out-of-class education including international trips occurring the week before spring break), and Senior Projects (school-sponsored job shadowing for seniors). Senior: I really have enjoyed my time at Marquette. Overall it is a great school that I am glad I am able to graduate from. Though I have made many lasting memories and have enjoyed my time, Marquette can sometimes be not so great. During my sophomore year we went through 2 geometry/trigonometry teachers and were left without a geometry teacher for about a month during the second semester before a replacement was found. I would say the amount of new teachers and the constant changing of teachers would be Marquette’s biggest fault. They’re really not the greatest at being able to keep their teachers and I have found that quite troublesome.
