Senior: I came to Penn from both its elementary school and it’s middle school but previously to that I had attended about 10 other elementary schools in the south bend/Nile’s District and it was a drastic change in environment. Senior: I am very glad I chose to go to Marian High School. My favorite thing about school was dance. I have been on the dance team for the last 4 years. I love dance because I am able to compete with other dance teams in Indiana. I also love Marian because the teachers are amazing. They are great at preparing us for college and making sure that all students excel in their academics. I have been able to connect with a lot of my teachers since my freshman year, and I am so thankful for that opportunity. I was able to connect with my teachers by talking about the simplest things such as dance or my family members that attended Marian before me. Junior: As a ongoing senior for my fourth year at Adams High School, I enjoy and appreciate the diversity Adams shows and the effort of being a multiculture school. As a student there, we focus a lot on our academics and improving our learning skills each day while being apart of clubs and sports. My past three years at being at Adams I've played sports and became apart of a fellowship in a club and enhancing my goals as National Technical Honor Student. Alum: The school has good bones, but needs to work on equity and eliminate favoritism. The academics, sports, and music programs are stellar, however, the students involved in sports tend to get preferential treatment. I attended the school, and it was the same then. My daughter felt the same thing and dealt with bullying. The community is amazing, and growing up here and raising my child here was the best thing that could happen. My daughter ended up finishing out her high school career at the academy, which is still part of the school. This was a great opportunity and experience for her. The teachers were amazing and listened to her as well as helped her. This experience helped her to finish high school and get ready to attend a college for graphic design next year. I will always have a fondness for NorthWood High School and its teachers as it prepared me for my own career as a teacher. Senior: Career Academy has changed my life for the better, but I do see many areas where they can improve. Parent involvement is very important and has been especially with my parents. There have been time when the parents are not the first person they contact when something happens. Other than that, I believe Career Academy is very good with their academics and college readiness. They have a program called the Early College program, which I am apart of, and it has prepared me for what my college classes will be like with also supplying me with college credits. Senior: Overall my experience throughout the 12 years that I have went to Edwardsburg have been incredible. The environment brought about by my peers and teachers, and others within the school district is the best. Everyone at Edwardsburg is super supportive and always wants the best for you. Senior: I have been attending Concord Community schools since Kindergarten. Highschool, for many, is one of the most traumatizing experiences. Junior: Going into high school is not simple in fact it can be pretty scary. However, the special characteristic that Elkhart Memorial has is the community. It is not just the teachers who get long but the students have a strong sense of family. The relationships between teachers and students leaves one feeling like they actually have a home. The inclusion that is available at this school appears to be strong. Even then it is still important to note that even the best of schools have their flaws. For example often times students feel alone or at loss for whatever reason. Easily a student should think of a person or place that can help them when trouble arrises. Usually school or an adult at school comes to mind. However, resources here can seem short. It is important for schools to not only focus on the academic/athletic side of school but the personal/mental health of students. Sophomore: There are many different things that I have appreciated about Clinton since I have gone there. Transitioning from a large public school to a small private school was a big change but I am glad that it happened. A small school can be good and bad. The good things is that everyone is so close and you can really feel a connection with friends, the bad thing about that is that everyone knows everything about everyone. Rumors and gossip spread very fast and soon everyone knows about everything! There are annual events that are fun because a lot of people come and it is a time to hang out and be with your friends. The sports are amazing! In Volleyball, our coach runs and works out with us. She doesn't make us do it all by ourselves. The coaches and staff invest time in students and they make sure that everyone feels loved. Senior: I love the size of JImtown, its small enough to where all teachers can know almost everyone and their stories, but it's not so small that no one outside of the school can recognize the name. Jimtown is a moderately sized high school in which you can know quite literally everyone in your class, I could more likely than not, go through and list everyone in my graduating class. The academics program, although more narrow than larger schools, is still predictable and reliable. Our sports program and history of the sports program is known acrossed a few different schools and cities nearby, and it's always nice when your Jimtown sweatshirt is recognized by someone you never knew. Overall JImtown has given me an experience that ill definitely miss, as ready as i am to move on in the world, I'm going to miss the bonds and relationships I've made along the way....
