Freshman: This school is excellent! I am currently a freshman and i have never felt more at home. There is however a concern that there are not in enough AP courses. I do not find this a problem because if you take advantage of the ones given to you colleges will acknowledge that. Senior: From college prep classes to soccer teams, I am extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to attend a high school like Carmel. For the almost four years I have been attending, Carmel has proven how their high-quality teachers and curriculum can allow students to reach academic achievement. The facility, more specifically counselors, has provided tremendous support in the segway from the remainder of a student's high school experience to college, making the transition much less stressful. Not only does Carmel have outstanding scholastic fulfillment, but the endless clubs and state-winning athletic programs allow for students to become involved with the school and the community inside the classroom and out. Senior: Zionsville Community High school is a high school that excels in the success of their students. With the multitude of extracurriculars and resources available, they look for everyone in there school to succeed by every means possible. The faculty I feel is very dedicated to their students by creating a competitive environment the students are able to learn and grow in. With this being said, some students here feel that Zionsville High School does have their drawbacks that turns them against this school. Some feel Zionsville has become to restrictive on the students freedoms in and around the school that has made their experience here anything but enjoyable. Junior: The school has been nothing but extraordinary. It is one which gives a vast span academic rigor and the 11:1 student-faculty ratio gives an amazing opportunity for one-on-one student teacher time. The teachers and staffing do everything with student success in mind. Not only this, but there are many times throughout the day built in for students to meet with teachers in subject offices, complete homework or socialize. The school does an amazing job of providing a great balance between work and fun. With students constantly attending sporting events, club meetings and other school led activities, the different grade levels are able to interact. Also, it is not super religious. Students can participate in relies events at their choice. The school offers amazing scholarship opportunities and highly ranked athletic teams (2021-22 W. Volleyball, M. Soccer, M. Senior: Community really is the main focus of University High School, and this is what I have most appreciated in my time there. Before coming to Westfield, I went to a small district school that didn’t have many extracurricular that intrested me nor did I fit in that the school. When I came to Westfield High School, I got to take all sorts of classes, meet people with different backgrounds, interests, etc. and felt included in what I did, such as I took part in Westfield’s high school Dance Marathon for Riley Children’s hospital and feel welcomed at Westfield High School’s Gay Straight Alliance club. Alum: My experience at Brownsburg high school was in between the years of 2016-2020 where I got to see the good and the bad. During my four years of high school I dealt with construction and COVID-19. With that being said though, Brownsburg was probably the best place I could have asked for to have such an amazing high school experience. With the entire school now almost completely renovated, the building allows a great space for students to learn everyday. The teachers are dedicated to giving their students a great education which was highly appreciated. They offer plenty of extracurriculars and AP classes for students who want to participate in sports, choir, clubs, or just challenge themselves in a more advanced learning. Overall, they are unmatched and with the size continuing to grow they still manage to make every student feel seen and appreciated. Even in the depths of the pandemic and the year cut short, Heritage adapted quickly, with the distance learning and quality videos of caring teachers! Freshman: Although i’ve only attended this school for a year, the relationships i’ve built with teachers and staff are easily accessible and helpful. The way some grading systems work within Noblesville have occasionally been frustrating and upsetting. Most teachers are extremely strict within their ways and refuse to agree with our previous educational experience. Sophomore: The staff are tremendous people and they truly care about mental health and growing each student spiritually and mentally, not just academically. I LOVE my school. Schools often say they are a family, but with Roncalli, this is actually true. Every single person in the building would give anything to help each other. This past year, our opening school assembly talked about pulling each other and pushing each other to finish this school together. In addition, the academics are truly top notch. Roncalli recognizes the sacrifices parents make to send their children here, and they truly make the money worth it. I could not imagine attending any other high school. The athletics are also amazing, and the student body loves to support one another. Parent: Choosing Lutheran was the best decision we could have made for our family! The boys are getting the academic push they need in the classroom as well as more one on one attention from teachers because of the small class sizes. As a parent I love the ease of communication between myself and the school and I am never left in the dark about anything…from the kids grades, to upcoming events, to sports, daily announcements and changes in the schedule. The kids are able to be involved in a number of different activities and the small school allows them to feel more a part of a family then just a number in a crowd. They are freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors together on and off the field, in and out of the classroom, eating lunch together, volunteering together, and worshiping together. Many teachers also have unique experiences which offer a lot of insight in the classroom (and j-term) and overall life advice. The material and curriculum can be challenging but most feel purposeful and many teachers put a fun spin to the content (especially in English). J-term offers a unique experience and opportunity for future hobbies and careers. The school environment is pretty relaxed. Freshman: Franklin Central High School is a great school in terms of academics. There are many teachers with various teaching strategies which is a great way for students to learn about their learning process. There are also many opportunities, such as the C9 classes which allows Juniors and Seniors who are caught up with their credits to experience a certain work field. The great thing about Franklin Central is the CCR Fridays at the high school. The high school runs on a periods 1-7 schedule from Monday to Wednesday. Students are dismissed at 2:15. On Thursdays, students attend odd classes which are periods 1, 3, 5, and 7. Students are dismissed at 2:15 PM on Thursdays. On Fridays, students have an even day and they attend periods 2, 4, and 6. Students are released at 12:45 PM on Fridays. However, FC provides a second round of buses for students that need to stay til 2:15.
