Senior: As a senior at CSG who's spent 7 years here, I've been at this school for a long time. CSG has a lot of good things about it, but there are some things you should be aware of before attending. CSG has excellent teachers, and most students here form close relationships with them. You can always meet individually to ask for help, and they all have office hours/free periods to faciliate that. There's a wide variety of classes here that get more interesting as you progress, and the academics are difficult but not impossible. There is a significant amount of homework that can become overwhelming at times. Sports here are my least favorite part. If you're not already "good" at one before coming, you will not get better. The food here is AMAZING, and you'd be pressed to find better food anywhere else. This is initially why I came lol. Senior: I transfered from a small school to Dublin Coffman as a freshman student. I was nervous, but our school has a great inclusion program for new students called the New Student Group. We met regularly with our other new peers and our guidance counselors to make sure we were getting acclimated to a large, new school. The guidane counselors at Dublin Coffman are amazing! They are very accomidating and always make time for you. They are great commuicators. Dublin Coffman also has many opportunities for inclusion in clubs and peer groups. Coffman is very diverse and you are exposed to many different cultural backgrounds. It's a wonderful opportunity, especially for a student coming from a small school that is not culturally diverse. Junior: I have had a fairly good experience at Bexley High School. I’ve been in the Bexley school system my entire school career, and have been given an exceptional education. The teachers are knowledgeable and accommodating, creating a learning environment not easily matched by other schools. Senior: Olentangy High School is a very academically proficient school district with many of the smartest students in the Columbus area. However, merely going to this school will not guarantee you a good education. You get out what you put in. I've taken many easy classes and many difficult classes, and throughout I've found teachers who teach the AP and honors courses are the best. They are the most passionate about their subjects and are more flexible with student learning. I if you want to have a good experience at this school, I recommend getting involved as much as possible. Senior: Olentangy Liberty High School is very large, and with it you can meet many people. It is always strange walking the hallways and seeing people you didn’t even know existed everyday. I really enjoyed the large school and the school pride present. There are an array of classes and the teachers really care. However, I would like to see a change in the way the school deals with cases involving bullying. As of now, for Ana cation to be considered bullying, it must happen many times and the victim must say stop, or else it’s just harassment. This protocol puts the victims in more danger and pushes kids not to speak up about it because it heavily favors the bully. Senior: I have been very pleased with my experience at St. Charles. When I was an incoming Freshman I didn't know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised with the strong academics and culture. I think it has prepared me for college more so than any other school in the state of Ohio would have been able to and has allowed me to create strong friendships along the way. Our sports programs are some of the most competitive in the Columbus area. They give the students room to grow as an athlete and as an individual. St. Charles Prep. truly shines in its teaching of the maths and sciences. It has some of the best teachers in those subjects, and they can be helpful if you thinking of going into a field with a heavy emphasis on those subjects. St. Charles Prep. has taught me how to manage my time, strengthen my academics, and help me create lifelong relationships. There are flags of nearly every country plastered on the ceiling of the cafeteria, there are so many different people from so many different backgrounds. Alum: Columbus Alternative High School (CAHS) changed my life forever. I entered CAHS in 2013 as a intercity student who never saw to much of a future for myself. Although, by the time I graduated CAHS in 2017 I expected nothing less than excellence from myself. They offer AP and IB classes to their students for free which allowed me to earn college credits right at my own high school. CAHS was constantly taking into consideration that there are students from all over the district and teaching on a very personalized basis. Alum: I believe Thomas Worthington high school is a good school to attend because they prepare students for college and help students go through the college application process to ensure the student picks the best choice for them. Alum: I graduated from Gahanna Lincoln in 2021. My experiences were obviously influenced by the covid-19 outbreak, however my experiences were still very much on the positive side. The school did a very good job with transitioning with covid-19. Teachers went out of there way to reach out to their students to check in and make sure everything was okay when we first went into lockdown. The animosity among the school also had the power to make any student feel at home. My senior year the teachers all went on strike after not being heard when it came to the safety of the students. They had the students backs and so when they went on strike me and a handful of other students organized a student led strike as well to show the teachers we also had their backs. This strengthened the bond between the students and teachers. Senior: I came to this school my junior year (currently a senior) and I love it. The faculty are all amazing and truly care about each and every student. The only downsides I would mention are mostly due to the small size of the school. I enjoy having smaller class sizes, but a limited amount of students also means less available classes to take, like AP classes or electives. Senior: I liked how there were so many ways to get involved in school, whether in sports, clubs, or other extracurricular activities. There was always something to do there, and you were always welcomed with open arms. At times, particular organizations would come in for the day and talk to the students about why they were there and what opportunities were available. I felt compelled to point out that there is always someone you can talk to about whatever is bothering you. It's a great school where everyone knows everyone else, and I had a great high school experience. From pep rallies, football games, prom, and homecoming, there was always something to do to have a great time, and I enjoyed it very much here while it lasted. Now that graduation is approaching, I'm making the most of my senior year because once it's gone, it's gone. Senior: Worthington Kilbourne High School is a public school that has very successful outcomes! It is in the wonderful Worthington community, and very involved. The school itself is clean, and has an amazing staff! Kilbourne lacks in numbers compared to the second high school in the Worthington district. Kilbourne also lacks with sports and are in D2 sports. Nonetheless, Kilbourne is a great atmosphere to grow, learn, challenge yourself, and even have fun! If you ever need help and are struggling, the Kilbourne staff will stop at nothing to meet your accommodations. I am a Senior at Kilbourne, in my four years of attendance I have been expected to work very hard and stay on top of my studies, however, if and when I ever needed help, the tutors provided with Kilbourne, the teachers, and the counseling staff were always there to lend a helping hand.
