Senior: My favorite part of Live Oak High is how dedicated the teachers are to not only the students grades and participation in class, but more importantly setting up students for success. Sophomore: Springfield is a great small school where everyone knows pretty much everyone. The teachers are all amazing and very understanding and adaptive. Senior: Denham Springs High School is not just a school, it is a family. The administration, teachers, and guidance counselors know the students by name and are willing to provide assistance at all times. Alum: Holden High School is a smaller environment for kids that have the ability to have one-on-one connection with all of their students. Class size is not too large giving them an easier learning environment. There are a lot of outside school activities offered through the school to allow students have extracurricular experiences that help shape them as well rounded people of society. I recommend taking the available ACT prep available for High school students which will help improve their ACT score dramatically and help them qualify for the bigger bracket of TOPS scholarship. Also for more challenging courses available to get college credit while still in high school is a fantastic opportunity. The staff at Holden are looking for all students their to succeed in all of their future endeavors and I always felt a personal connection with all of them. Senior: French Settlement is a home town school. My graduating class in less then 70 people. The type of relationship that everyone knows, you, your momma, and your business. The teachers are very one on one and is more then glad to make sure you have everything you need to success. From Laine Hardy, to our basketball team our whole towns supports the school and what comes out of it. This school is full of spirit, love and hometown cooking. French Settlement also provides a wide variety of student activities, from clubs, to sports, the arts and also a band. Alum: For funding, there are some lacking aspects, but in passion my teachers outstripped the fancier schools by miles. If you take the initiative, opportunities for college credit, dual enrollment, and all kinds of honors opportunities were available. We had a robust k4 program, with many talents in design, livestock management and art regularly fostered with care.
