Senior: My experience here at Quemado has been a blast. The community is very supportive and almost everyone here is very nice. The community has been so helpful to school and cares about the students that are attending the school. The staff here at the school is very supportive and cares about our future and what we want to do when we leave and go into the real world. They go out of there way when they don’t have to so that we can succeed in life. The only thing I would like to change is to maybe add like another restaurant to our town and have a little bit more jobs around here...Read 2 Reviews

Senior: I have attended this school for all of my high school years. It has a great learning environment with many helpful resources. Due to the small class sizes, I was given many oppurtunities to have one on one time with excellent teachers at our school. Apart from the one on one time, due to the small numbers there are great relationships among all the students, almost like family. It's academics are great, the school has a great curriculum giving it's students and I all the l knowledge needed. It also had a great college readiness program called Gear Up that helps all the student there gain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in college. It is truly a great school...Read 1 Review

Alum: I'm a fourth-generation resident of Corona and a third-generation graduate. There is no other district in the state (OK, I'll admit a little bias) that takes such a personal interest in students. It's all, ALL! about the kids. From academics to FFA/4-H, to sports, they just excel. Many of our teachers/staff/administrators/volunteers are my fellow graduates. The other "adopted" Corona natives are more invested than any big school district I have covered (25-year journalist in NM and TX.) I've seen the world and would not praise more highly any district in the state of NM, for academic and extracurricular excellence, as well as general, community-based "you are all OUR kids" attitude than Corona Schools...Read 1 Review

Parent: St. John's is providing an excellent academic and social environment for our children in middle school. They were not being challenged as much as they needed in our local public school, so we switched from MCPS, and couldn't be happier. They are not only challenged academically at St. John's, but they are also encouraged to think on a deeper level about their faith, which is important to our family. Opportunities abound for involvement in leadership activities, the arts and athletics. The small school setting allows all the children to get to know each other, no matter what grade they're in, so it feels more like a big family. We love that STJES is also teaching them life skills such as talking to their teachers/adults, public speaking, respecting one another, as well as advocating for themselves. Additionally, there is an emphasis on community service within and outside of the school throughout the year. It's been a great experience, and we're very thankful to have found St. John's!...Read 11 Reviews

Alum: I just graduated from Animas and I can tell you I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else. It is a very small school so there may not be every sport available, but at our school everyone does everything. There is no such thing as stereotyping because here the most of the students play football, basketball, and track, while also doing drama/theater, FFA, and mock trial. Those same students can also be in NHS and student council. It is also easier to get a ton of scholarships in our small town because you have 14 kids graduating instead of 400. There are a lot of community scholarships as well because the community and the school are work hand-in-hand to make sure the students thrive. We also have amazing counselors and teachers that help the kids to their individual needs and help the with scholarships...Read 2 Reviews

Senior: I am currently a senior in high school and have been attending Texico Schools since Kindergarten. Some things that I like about Texico is that our school is small enough that the students are close with one another and can have 1 on 1 time with teachers if they are struggling. Our Teachers and Administrators work very hard to prepare us not only for college but also for state testing, they always make sure that we are prepared physically and mentally. We have been awarded as an A+ school in the state for 5 years now. One thing that sets Texico apart from other schools is that we get to keep God in school. We have what is called FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and we meet every Wednesday at lunch and fellowship together, not a lot of schools allow religion anymore. You don't have to be a Christian or an athlete to attend FCA, anyone can go. Our athletes are some of the best athletes, our volleyball girls have won state 7 years in a row and have worked hard for those wins...Read 4 Reviews

Alum: Everything about this school was great. I went to school there my entire tenure. I experienced it as we transitioned into a new school building. My favorite thing about this school is the student-teacher relations that get developed because at bigger schools that wouldn't be optional. I do miss it, but I am fortunate that I am in college now as it pushed me into the right path. The change I would have liked more is more college readying classes as well as some life skill classes. I think some students after high school may struggle with everyday tasks such as how to do laundry, cook, etc. because they were dependent until they moved on in life...Read 3 Reviews

Parent: We applied to St. Catherine’s for our two elementary-school aged daughters during the 2020-2021 COVID school year. Despite an all-virtual admission process due to COVID, the robustness of the various programs St. Catherine’s offered gave us a great feel for the school and provided a high level of confidence that St. Catherine’s was the right school for our daughters. So far, St. Catherine’s has exceeded our expectations every step of the way. The transition to a new school has been very easy for our daughters – the students, teachers, staff, and families have all been fantastic and very welcoming – and our daughters are excited to go to school each day. The academic curriculum is excellent; our girls are being challenged and we can see them learning and growing as people. On multiple occasions since starting at St. Catherine’s we’ve had that feeling that we made the right decision, and that’s a good feeling to have!...Read 133 Reviews

Senior: I have gone to SAMS for over 5 years, and I am in their graduating class of 2020. I have loved my experience here, the flexibility in coursework, the amazing extracurriculars that are offered, and the wonderful faculty and peers. One of the great programs offered is the "SmartLab" in which you can use and learn about technology and equipment you may not have a chance to otherwise. The dual credit program here has been incredible in the past, but, this is changing due to stricter state regulation. There is also an amazing aeronautics program at the school. But, I would not say this school is for everyone. You need to be very self-motivated to make sure you are completing the self-paced core classes. I have seen a few people have to stay "seniors" for one or two extra years as they did not stay on track. The other thing would be that there is not much time to socialize or work with other students. But overall, I think that SAMS is a wonderful school, with many amazing opportunities...Read 4 Reviews
