Cor Jesu Academy
Sophomore: Overall, this school is great in the sense that it can produce strong women leaders. The academics at Cor Jesu are more vigorous than the average high school. Students are encouraged to teach themselves difficult subjects and progress their own learning through self-motivation. Many courses are offered in a wide range of interests. However, some of the faculty are difficult to approach with questions and the learning environment is somewhat strict. Some students feel underrepresented or oppressed by the school's white majority population. This school is also very strict (religiously speaking) at times. Theology classes are bent on convincing the student body of God's existence and loyalty to Catholicism. This aggressive approach to conversion is akin to brainwashing and feels suffocating. In addition, some students feel pessimistic about the future and are too busy to lead active lives outside of school. The workload is crushing and does not nurture a creative, active mind.
