Challenger School - Almaden
Alum: I attended Challenger's Almaden campus starting in preschool and graduated a couple years ago. The campus is quite small (usually 30-40 people total in middle school). This meant that the community was more tightly knit than at most other schools, but it also meant that the academic and extracurricular offerings were limited. As for the quality of the academics, Challenger's English program (separated into four subjects: grammar, composition, literature, vocabulary) is very good. The other subjects are somewhat advanced but also pretty standard for a private school. In general, teachers here are pretty good and care about their students. Another thing I'll say is that Challenger is not very diverse, as many people already know; it's predominantly Asian and white. Overall, I think Challenger is great for preschool, kindergarten, and elementary school. I enjoyed middle school as well, but it trapped me in the Challenger bubble for a little too long.
